Inspired by an idea from Claire Taylor to network and support other self employed women, we have quickly grown into a fledging group of local business women with a strong ethos to support each other and our community. Any woman who lives and has her own business in YO25 is welcome to join us, no business is excluded and everyone is welcome. There are no fees, no cliques, no paid for advertising an
d no competition between members. Members are expected to be active and involved in the planning of events, the attendance of meetings, and have the option to be involved in our members social events should they wish. Our aim is to make the "not necessarily on the high street" business of Driffield more visible, and remind our town what is Great about Driffield! We have a wealth of experience and an eclectic diversity of skills in our community which we believe is undervalued currently. We hope to become a reference point for our community when looking for a local tradesperson, business, professional or specialist. We'd like to become involved in community events and raise awareness of our business, and of the charities we have chosen to support. This year we have voted to support the Driffield Foodbank and the Skatepark. It was important to us that we invested in the youth provision in our town, and offered appropriate support to the families who are struggling in what for many are difficult times. Our plan is to host two annual events to showcase each other, and to raise funds and donations for our chosen charities. Our first event is planned for Winter 2015, and we look forward to meeting you in person there. Further details will be advertised in the coming months. Member meetings are monthly, and we are contactable via our page " Great Driffield Women's Business Association". With Claire as Secretary, myself as Chairperson, and Kim Hickson as additional Admin, we look forward to welcoming you to our group, showcasing local women and their business, meeting you at events, and becoming a point of reference when you are looking to support local. Let's work together to be part of Great Driffield! Best wishes
