How lucky were last nights guests. Lucy messaged this morning to say “thank you for putting on the Northern Lights display - absolutely wonderful!” Luckily she captured these images for us while I slept right through it.

We love it that guests chose to come back and stay with us (4 times 😊🙏). Sounds like they had a lovely stay and lots of exploring and we love it when guests recommend places to visit. Scrumdiddlyumptious sounds perfect and one I will be trying soon for a hot chocolate and cake.

EXCITING NEWS…
North Yorkshire Water Park has so much to do for the whole family. We love it here and have enjoyed many trips to the water park. It looks bigger and even better this year. There is also open water swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, wake boarding, zip wire, puzzle room, axe throwing and archery. You can also enjoy a walk around the lakes. There is also a lovely cafe on site or take a picnic.

Little “Thank you” notes found today in the lodge made me smile! All our guests appreciate our little extras and we get thanked in our visitor books but this was lovey.

Some of you may have seen Robert E Fuller on The One Show. His gallery is less than half an hours drive from us. His work is amazing and the gallery is a lovely place to visit and you will be well looked after. We usually visit during his exhibition but Easter looks like a great time to go as he might have some live hatchings too.

Maybe you are not looking to relocate but we agree and think you should come and explore straight away and find out why for yourselves.

IT’S NEARLY TIME….
So many of our guests commented on their amazing day out last year at RSPB Bempton Cliffs “home to one of the UK’s top wildlife spectacles. Around half a million seabirds including Puffins, Gannets, Kittiwakes and Guillemots gather between March and August to raise a family on the towering chalk cliffs that overlook the North Sea”.

Many of our guests have visited Bempton Cliffs (less than half an hour) and really enjoy seeing all the sea birds. It is a fantastic place to visit.

We love taking our dog ‘Bella’ to the beach in the winter and she absolutely loves being in the sea. We are very lucky to be within half an hours drive so as today was a rare sport free Sunday and dry we headed to Hunmanby Gap. We walked to Filey on the beach enjoyed some lunch at a cafe and then came back to the car along the King Charles III coastal path (although very muddy!).

Where’s your favourite place to visit in East Yorkshire?

I love our personalised Kesters Ordnance Survey map which we have had framed and hung in the living room of each lodge. Kesters is right in the middle of the map and guests can see how easy it is to get to all the amazing places surrounding us - Bridlington, Filey, Beverley and Hull. North Yorkshire is also very close so you can easily visit Scarborough, York, Malton and Whitby too.

There are so many places to visit within a short drive.
