If you overfill your tank, it could cover the v***r intake hole with liquid gasoline, which can then be sucked into the charcoal canister. This can damage the canister and possibly other parts of the system, which will cause the car's check-engine light to come on and could potentially cost hundreds to repair.

📣 From 9 May DVSA driving examiners can use public car parks for the reverse park into a bay manoeuvre if it is assessed on your driving test 🚗

This will allow the reverse manoeuvre to be assessed on all car driving tests, not just those with their own car park 🅿️

Reverse parking manoeuvre in non DVSA car parks on driving tests
From 9 May DVSA can use non-DVSA car parks for the reverse park into a parking bay manoeuvre if it is assessed on a driving test.

This change is being introduced across all driving test centres following a successful trial in February and March 2022.

The change gives the option for reverse parking to be assessed on all driving tests, not just those taken at driving tests centres with a car park.

Following on from a successful trial
The trial took place at 15 driving test centres earlier in the year for car driving tests and ADI part 2 tests.

The feedback was positive from driving examiners, approved driving instructors and candidates who’s tests were included as part of the trial.

Examiners will use car parks that are currently used for testing the forward park.

You need to let your pupils know about the change and we will contact all of your pupils who have a test booked in the first four weeks of the change coming in to place.

There are changes to the Highway Code that come into effect on January 29.

🔹 Cyclists have priority over cars when cars turning
🔹 Pedestrians have priority over cars at junctions
🔹 Changes to cyclist positioning to ensure better visibility

It is the responsibility of individual road users to be familiar with the Highway Code.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced the immediate deployment of their Defence Driving Examiners (DDEs) to work alongside DVSA examiners providing thousands of extra lorry driving tests over the next 12 weeks.

This is on top of:

👉40 new lorry test examiners we’re recruiting
👉the extra 50,000 lorry tests created by vocational test changes
👉the 50% increase in lorry tests since the pandemic

😱 The number 1 reason learners fail their test is by not making effective observations at junctions.

❗ Are you confident judging the speed of an approaching vehicle? It’s important when pulling out you don’t cause others to have to slow down or take action to avoid you.

Looking too late ⏰ You must properly check your surroundings before moving out of junction to make effective observations.

👉 Failing to turn right correctly at a junction is also at number 4.
