It is situated on a working farm where guests are welcome to come and meet the animals and see the farm in action. James and Kay Gilchrist were granted funding from Tyne and Esk Leader which allowed them to build this Chalet to allow other people to enjoy the East Lothian countryside as much as they do. They felt that there was not enough accommodation available in the area for people with disabil

ities and they wanted to change that. The idea for the Chalet was born! Our inclusive Chalet has three bedrooms; our main bedroom is unique as it has an en-suite wetroom with celling track hoist running from the bedroom into the wetroom. The wetroom will have grab rails as well as a Clos-o-mat toilet which offers a wash and dry facility. This bedroom has two electric lifting beds which can be used either a twin room or a double room. The Chalet has two other bedrooms with the option of twin or double rooms. The bathroom is opposite, featuring a bath with shower, toilet and sink. Our kitchen/living area has two large glass windows/doors looking down over the coastal town of Dunbar. This will lead out to a large decking area where stunning views can be enjoyed by all. Access is via the glass door or the side utility room. The Chalet has a concrete carpark with a ramp leading up to it for easy access.

Merry Christmas to our guests and followers. It’s been another busy year at the chalet with a huge amount of bookings and we are delighted that we have reached many more guests who come to make use of our facilities.
We are now closed from today until the 5th of January to have some family time before everything starts again next year.
Thank you all for your support and repeat visitors and also to our cleaning team who work hard and do such a good job ❤️

Rest in peace Doddie and thank you for all you have done to help those suffering from MND.
We have met some lovely people over the last few years who came for a holiday to the chalet and sadly aren’t here today.
Hopefully sometime in the near future there will be a cure found for MND.

Sadly one of our previous guests burnt our kitchen worktop by leaving the cafetière on the gas then placing directly onto the worktop.
Rather than replacing the entire section of the worktop we contacted Surface Tech and he came and managed to help disguise the damage.
He did a super job and would throughly recommend him to anyone.
We have been lucky so far that most guests use the heat protectors provided but would like to politely remind guests that if you damage the proper then you should be expected to cover the cost whether an accident or not. It is the decent thing to do.

As we approach the busy holiday season our 2023 dates are now open for bookings. If you have any particular dates in mind please do book these early as once they have gone they’re gone.
In line with the increase in electricity and gas prices we have made a slight increase in our prices. This is the first increase in 5 years so we hope you understand and continue to come and enjoy your stay with us.

Today’s guest is trying out our new elephant feet which raise the bed to assist with moving g and handling when using the hoist. These are available to use by contacting Kay prior to your stay if this would make a difference to suit a guest’s specific needs.

**Grumpy post alert**😡😡😡

We want our guests to enjoy themselves and have a nice holiday but we do not appreciate damage to to the property even though we know accidents can happen.
The odd broken glass or plate is just an accident but deliberate removal of tv’s from walls to attach devices is simply not on. We are now having to charge a recent guest for a replacement tv as they have broken it where the bracket attaches to the wall. Someone in the meantime will be without a tv until this arrives which again is unfair to them.
I am looking into getting some boxes to safely attach these devices to the tv from the front without having to remove to put into the back.
If you happen to be staying with us in the future can you please be mindful of this. I’ve replaced more frying pans in 3 years than I care to remember, not starting it with tv’s!!!

Fresh out the oven!
As part of our welcome pack we include a loaf of bread or morning rolls of your choice. This may be homemade or bought from a local bakers. Another option we have decided offer is some home made scones instead of bread. These may be fruit, cherry or plain.
Would these new ideas we something guests would like? Comments below would be appreciated to know your thoughts!

The fence has been tidied up around the chalet and the caravan park. Gate still needs painted but hope you like the improvements.
We also have some new wheelchair accessible garden furniture and an electric rise/recline armchair arriving soon!!
