🌊🚢 Always Thought Cruising Wasn’t For Me? Let Me Tell You a Story! 😂

Six years ago, I was convinced that cruising was just for the “golden oldies” and formal dinners with strangers (no thanks!). Plus, the thought of being on a boat where I couldn’t see the shore? Absolutely no danger! 🛳️😱

But then came my husband’s 50th birthday, and as the world’s most stubborn travel planner, I found myself in a bit of a pickle. After searching high and low, I thought, “What’s the worst that could happen if I give cruising a shot?” Well, I could hate it, but hey, I could always jump ship at the next port, right? 🚪💨

So, off we went in June 2019 on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. And let me tell you, my sister-in-law’s advice to get a balcony cabin was a game changer! I wasn’t ready to stare into the abyss of the ocean just yet, so a balcony overlooking the center of the ship was perfect! 🌅

The moment we stepped onboard, I realised I’d been totally wrong. The average age was way younger than I imagined, with families and couples of all ages mingling. We could dine whenever we wanted and with whoever we wanted! 🙌🍽️

As for my fear of boats? We picked a port-intensive itinerary, so I was never too far from land (even if I was probably miles away). Just being able to see the shore was enough to ease my fears!

Fast forward six years, and now I can proudly say we’ve been on four amazing cruises and just booked our fifth! 🎉 Who knew this land lover would become a cruise enthusiast? Sometimes, stepping out of your comfort zone leads to the best adventures!

I’ve done Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian and all booked for Virgin Voyages in June😆. So if you have any questions about cruising just let me know.
