Dozens of little brown trout were jumping clear of the water and grabbing flying Damsels yesterday. Insane dry fly fishing for a couple of hours on a wild hill loch. We fished big May fly muddlers static and dry, the rises were so explosive. The last release of another epic sea trout session in the far north of Scotland. Fishing one four hour session per day and resting the river every couple of days, we are still on course to release well over 100 sea trout between 1lbs - 5lbs this week. It’s wonderful to know we still have fisheries like this left. When the rain comes, which it will, this place is going to be on 🔥with Grilse.

19.5lbs of Scottish silver captured by Michael R Ross a couple years ago. Theres an historic run of “big” Atlantic salmon that run fast and push high up the Tay system early in the spring. Catch records going back two hundred years show they average 19lbs, but also the run is over by mid April. If you want "big", March is the month to put in the yards.
