Wow. What a wonderful treat to have breakfast at St. Nicks Cafe in Durweston church. Five minutes walk from the Mill. Open every Thursday morning. Home made cakes, locally sourced bacon and eggs, Wonderful bread - even the ketchup is home made.

The Island at Durweston Mill is adjacent to our lovely holiday apartments. For a few glorious weeks in the summer we have this beautiful pop up campsite. Our guests at Durweston Mill are welcome to enjoy our private island year round for dog walking, fishing, photography, bird watching, wild swimming and boating……. our little piece of heaven 💚

In my twenties excitement was a holiday or a new club. Today it was really exciting when the post arrived with lovely new double feather and down duvets, covers and quilts for the single beds in Coopers. I actually enjoyed making the beds! They look so pretty.

What a glorious day we had yesterday. Hired a ridiculously heavy auger to dig over 60 holes and plant willow, beech and oak trees on the island. What joy to finally get them into the ground having been in pots for the past two years. When Alfie came home from school he insisted on having a go and I was amazed at how strong he is. Just wonderful
