Grove Stables in the afternoon sun.
This property is set in the beautiful countryside, so it is very peaceful. There is a private garden but you can also enjoy views over the extensive garden at Grove House. We spotted buzzards and barn owls here last week!

Aldeburgh beach.
Accessible in 2 hours from both properties, but oh so worth it. A beautiful seaside location with fish and chips, pretty boats, ice cream and independent shops.

We visited Banham Zoo this week and got really lucky to see the tigers up close, as well as the snow leopards, seals, giraffes and cheetahs all enjoying the sunshine.

Banham is a 1hr drive from our holiday lets, and offers a great place to come and see a variety of animals. There are several talks each day where you can see the animals being fed and learn a bit more about them. It's a great day out for all ages!

A brilliant opportunity to see the inside of our favourite lighthouse!

Forthcoming Lighthouse Open Days 🗓️❤️🤍

📆Due to space restrictions, places and numbers are limited, and pre-booking is strongly advised. Online booking closes the day before, however, there may be a limited number of walk-in places on the day, on a first come, first served basis.

🎟️ Adults £5, Children £2 (plus booking fee) - Children must be a minimum of 1.15 metres high to climb the tower and must be able to climb unaided. 🪜Please note there are steep steps at the top of the tower, and the main staircase is open - see the website for more details.

🐾Sorry, dogs are not allowed in the tower on open days, but you are welcome to wait with your furry friend outside and alternate tours.

Had a lovely afternoon at East Ruston Old Vicarage yesterday afternoon. Highlight were the stunning dahlias, such an array of beautiful colours. We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep and thoroughly recommend a visit to all our guests.

Yesterday we went for a ride on the steam train at the from Holt to Sheringham. A rover ticket means you can travel to your heart's content all day. Yesterday there was a choice of riding behind steam, diesel or a heritage railcar depending on what time you wanted or needed to travel. Before we got on the train we had a little wander around the quaint town of Holt with its independent shops and cafes and even art galleries.
A short drive to the station and we bought our tickets and found a seat ready to depart. The journey takes you through scenic countryside with views to the sea (try to spot the windmill at Weybourne).
There's lots to offer at Sheringham too. We opted for a walk to the seafront and then up Beeston Hill which had fantastic views. Having worked up an appetite, we headed back into the town and got some chips, and later an ice cream before heading back on the train.
The perfect day out.
