Having my own children has given me a new perspective. I am a hands on person and share children’s passion for messy play, being outside what ever the weather and imagination. We garden and grow veg, there is even a mud kitchen outside for mud pies and fairy soup, but cook real food inside. Having really enjoyed having time to play and share this passion and help our children develop I chose to
take on the training and set up as a childminder so that I can share this enthusiasm which others in a small group. As a childminder with a small group of children there can be a real family feel to the setting with lots of opportunity for individual needs and interests of each child to be focused on. I also take the children out and about to experience other places such as parks, petting farms, museums, library, local shops, museums, soft play all of which ad to develop their community links and experiences. As a parent, I understand that choosing childcare is a very important decision. It is important that you are able to choose a setting that is right for you and your children. We had to go through the process ourselves, when I returned to work after our first child. After looking at several nurseries and childminders we chose a childminder for the home from home environment. It was a great success with our son thriving with the attention and friendships possible in the small group environment.
