Home and back to work after a great week away at the Retraining of Racehorses National championships at Aintree.
5th and 6th in our elementary and a few 7ths in some of our other classes.

Full clip and hogged mane for little dodger today to help his skin problems, he wasn't sure about the whole thing as it was the first time he's seen the clippers but we got there in the end with patience and plenty of reassurance!

A busy few days with cherry back out to her first show of the year on Saturday bringing home her first qualifying sheet of the year too!

Then a full clip for Jessie and blanket for Joker yesterday which I forgot to get pictures of.

And a bib for Honey, a trace for Percy who was quite unsure about it to begin with but we got there! And feathers off for Murphy too to keep on top of his itchy legs

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to steph for giving me such lovely horses to work with over the last 3 years, they've all been super!

Quite sad yesterday to wave tonka off to her new loan home after seeing her go from the clumsy 10 month old to a lovely gentle giant that loves her work and will enjoy taking out rides at the Cumbrian heavy horse farm.
Macauley is also all clipped and set for his trip and seeing the change in him from when steph got him, in a very bad state, to happily hacking out and looking fantastic again!
As well as, lady, waffle, turadh, freddie, bonnie and a few others in there I'm sure!

3 weeks today under saddle!

Yesterday Tonka had her first beach hack and today she went out with another horse for the first time, saw other horses on the beach, dogs, people and lots of cars and was like shes been doing it for years!

Now that tonkas working it was time for a blanket clip today, which she really enjoyed and groomed steph the whole time

Shes coming on very well under saddle having done her first trot earlier in the week and working away at that

As steph said, tonka was a star again today for her first little hack round the fields, coming on so well for only a handful of times being ridden 🥰

Exciting day for tonka!
First sit on and walk around the field looking very grown up

Looking forward to seeing how she progresses over the next few weeks!

I know I shouldnt have favourites but I do have a big soft spot for this big clumsy lump having known her since she was almost a year old and now being the one to back her a few years later 🥰

I know it might be a tad early for some, but I've started to get a few enquiries about clipping again as it's getting to that time of year!

I'll be arranging some dates soon for those already enquired or anyone that's interested
