(87)

I ask for a £5-£10 donation for adults to Reading charities (that change each year), I'm non-profit making, so far I have raised over £22,000 in 8 years I set up Terry's Reading Walkabouts (guided walks) in 2016 with the aims/objectives:-

1 To get fitter in a proactive way,
2 To pass on my love of Local history, culture, famous people, Myths, battles, gardens, architecture, gardens, buildings, an

d more in a fun way
3 I have lived here all my life (my parents before me) & feel that many people now living or travelling to Reading (RDG) do not know about or fully appreciate it’s history, facilities and opportunities e.g. the beauty & accessibility of the Thames, King's & Hills Meadows.
4 I’m a people person & greatly enjoy meeting, helping people. I cannot think of a better way of doing, then hosting my Walkabouts.
5 To raise monies for many local charities

An excellent Tilehurst Walkabout this morning including some excellent additional walkers stories, like the time the time the Osmonds came to Tilehurst!

And from Gill when relating to the size off allotments - ‘A rod is a measure of land dating back to Saxon times when it was defined as the total length of the left feet of the first sixteen men to leave church on Sunday morning!!

Finally another generous £70 donated by 9 Walkers & a very well behaved dog to 'Scotty's Little Soldiers' which takes the money donated so far for that charity to over £700!

I'm doing my Special 1 hour People’s Pantry bombing Walkabout which is linked to the amazing Mike Cooper Talk in Reading Museum in the morning.

I think the Talk is sold out (but worth a check). You need to go to Reading Museum what's on to check or ring the Museum.

Anyway there are likely to be room for a few of you to join the Walk. Likely to start at 12 to 12 30ish.

If you are interested in the walking let me know ASAP.

We are watching the BBC - Festival of Remembrance from the Albert Hall. I have watched it more years than I can remember, but it still moves me so much. We have been to the cenotaph twice, which is extremely moving. We both had fathers & relatives who served.

Freedom is something so easily taken for granted, but fought for by so many, many not coming back - We will not forget you!

I'm extremely proud to be supporting a little know Military Charity this remembrance period - see link below. And amazingly I have exceeded my target of £500, (so far = £656 ) with 2 Walkabouts to go!!

I will be watching BBC TV when I can tomorrow morning (or on catch-up) and looking out for their distinctive Yellow & Black scarves! -
