A lovely sunny visit to Waterperry Gardens last Friday, it’s been a while since our last visit and the gardens were looking just as lovely with plenty to see and enjoy.

We had the bonus of the Oxford Craft Show also taking place at the same time, so we also had chance to view and buy from some very talented people.

A lovely return to Bletchley Park today where we have been enjoying the 1940s Day.

Always a great atmosphere and a great day to just sit and people watch. In between the rain showers we’ve had entertainment and guided tours and wandered the many exhibits.

We have just arrived at Warners Holme Lacy House in Herefordshire our home for the week.

It’s been a long time since we stayed here and we’ve all ready found staff that remember us, although I’m not sure that’s a good thing?

We will be out and about all week visiting Hereford, Ross On Wye, Monmouth and also a cruise on the Wye, now fingers crossed for the weather.

Here we are enjoying some beautiful weather at the equally beautiful Hever Castle.

We are visiting mainly for the Craft Show but the grounds are glorious to wander or just sit and watch the world go by today.

Our feet are aching after all the walking as well as visiting the castle, and it’s now time for an ice cream I think!

Well our big news is finally out!

I’m thrilled to announce we will be offering our first ever cruise on board Fred Olsen’s intimate Borealis, a lovely ship that carries just 1353 passengers.

We will be joining them to set sail in June 2025 to enjoy the stunning scenic landscapes of the Norwegian Fjords.

Yesterday after a visit to Wi******er, we paid a visit to Whitchurch Silk Mill.

This beautiful 19th century mill surrounded by the waters of the river test, is now run by a trust ensuring the survival of silk weaving in the traditional way, and has been open as a living museum since 1990.

Two lovely guides took us on a tour of this working building, with its original mill wheel and Victorian machinery, as we learnt about its past.

We paid a very long overdue visit yesterday to West Green Gardens, and it’s just as beautiful.

Create over two decades by Marylyn Abbott with unfolding rooms and hidden corners it’s a pleasure to spend time in.

It looked after by super staff, and great when everything in the tea room is made fresh and with love, which overall adds to the joy of this garden.

Yesterday we kicked off our day tours, with the ever popular Worthing.

This time however with a twist, on the journey home we paid a visit to the Martyrs church in Goring. From the outside it looks similar to a community hall, then you step inside to this. A hand painted copy of the world’s most famous ceiling, the Sistine Chapel.

We were treated to a talk on the history of the building and how it came to be, and so worth a visit.

Thank you for making us so welcome

After over 16 years of touring, we finally made it into a venue that we have driven passed so often, and that’s Brighton Royal Pavilion.

We spent Friday morning looking around this beautifully ornate building. The attention to detail in each of the rooms is quite something, with beautiful chandeliers and oriental themed decor.

We now know what lies behind that standout white landmark building as you drive towards the seafront, and it’s stunning.

A few pictures from our day at Eltham Palace on Monday, perfect weather.

It’s been a good few years since we were last here and this the we pretty much had the palace to ourselves it was so quiet.

I’d forgotten what great views over London you got from here, clear sky’s gave us the Shard and Canary Wharf, whist wandering round in lovely grounds.

A few pictures from a very warm Wednesday and our visiting to Hinton Ampner another treasure in the National Trust collection.

We should have been here last year, but the house decided to close for winter cleaning far earlier than planned.

However some things happen for a reason, we had the welcome treat this time of visiting during the festival of flowers with every room decorated with displays.

Later we enjoyed a little stop in Alresford, and managed to fill many of the tea shops.

The first of 2 National Trust property visits this week, Mottisfont Abbey and Gardens.

Known for its roses, the walled gardens were looking great with plenty of colour, and bonus shade spots to sit and enjoy it.

Lucky we enjoyed beautiful sunny weather all day so was a bit of a shock to arrive back to start drop offs having missed the downpours and seeing road floods.

Someone was on our side.

A packed day out and a full coach yesterday, for the South Of England Show in Ardingly.

Celebrating all things agriculture, sideshows and shopping experiences, a food hall and a celebration of local area businesses.

But best of all, arena judging of so many different breeds, from cows to rabbits. All being very well looked after and cared for in the warm weather and winning those rosettes.

On Monday we made a return trip to the ever popular Maldon in Essex home to the vintage barges and a very nice pub The Queens Head by the waters edge.

This time after lunch we headed for a private visit to the nearby Beeleigh Abbey to explore their gardens. Hidden little gem, beautiful setting and very well looked after and loved grounds.

We had the bonus of Tea & Cake too.

We’ve had a great run of theatre trips over the last few weeks, starting at the Yvonne Arnold Theatre in Guildford with The Best Marigold Hotel starring Paul Nicholas and Belinda Lang.

Then two new west end shows, a preview of Aspects of Love starring Michael Ball, and then last week Ain’t To Proud the story of the Temptations.

Grateful to have Full coaches on all three trips, the next one up for us is the Wizard Of Oz at the london Palladium, we’ve places left 😉

A little over a week ago we had a full coach out enjoying lunch at Chichester catering college.

Restaurant 64 always look after us so well when we visit, and the students are just super, working in the kitchens, serving to tables and on the bar, as they learn the hospitality trade on the job.

Just look at the presentation of the food, this is just an example of the day. If it’s like this now, they are getting the very best training.

We’ve had so much going on over the last week our Facebook posts had to take a back seat.

So we’ve some catching up too do. On Friday we made a return visit to Hylands House Flower festival, last year it rained all day, so we just had to try again.

What a glorious day we ended up with, sun shine, wonderful flower displays with a Dr Doolittle theme, more stalls than last year and plenty of purchases under the coach on the way home. Even the traffic behaved itself, a prefect day.

On Friday we got to enjoy one of our more unusual days out, will a visit the BMW Mini Plant in Oxford.

Starting the tour in the museum (seen below) which displayed immaculate Mini’s from its first production to todays models. We were then taken into the production houses, with the first building behind the size of 32 football pitches.

We walked amongst a world of robots, all moving mini parts putting in rivets and adding extra bits along the way.

We literally saw the whole process from start to finish, ending in a completed and finished mini being driven off the production line.

So much to take in, and completely mind blowing. Super tour guides with so much knowledge, and who looked after us so well.

Sadly this was the only picture, being in a working factory we couldn’t understandably take pictures.

After enjoying some down time, we were back out on the road yesterday.

Visiting the beautiful Exbury Gardens in the New Forest, it’s been ages since we made a visit here, and it turned out to be a real treat.

After a really bad weather forecast, and being braced for a bad day, we enjoyed no rain and an unexpected afternoon of warm sunshine.

We were however caught in a massive rain storm on the way home, never have we experienced anything like it when out, our driver Matt was amazing driving in it.

It’s been a full on week, finishing yesterday with a morning visit to Lewes followed by a visit to the lovely Sarah Raven spring garden.

I’ve been wanting to bring a group here for ages and this year it’s worked out, in fact we have 2 dates, one to follow later in the year.

These are special openings that only happen every so often, it’s a beautiful garden in the middle of the country and we happily spend a couple of hours exploring and eating cake.

Well the final scheduled tour date for our Borough Market and Battersea Power Station took place yesterday.

We have taken over 200 people over 4 dates on this tour, of which 174 went to the top of one of the iconic chimneys in Lift 109.

Thankfully we’ve had pretty good weather to get some great views across London each time, and yesterday it was just glorious.

We started the week yesterday with a visit to the beautiful National Trust property Standen House.

Starting the day with a talk on the history of the house and how it came to be, we had chance to then explore this very homely property very much in William Morris style.

Set in some lovely grounds, with some very welcome sunshine to sit and enjoy the stunning views.

Well we all got home from Paignton on Friday, the washing has been done and now we are looking forward to the week ahead with 3 day tours out this week.

Here’s a few more pictures from our last day on Thursday when we were able to enjoy the weather and explore Torquay.

Also a picture of our hotel Palace Hotel and Spa Paignton , we actually should have been at the Headland Hotel, Torquay but they sadly suffered a fire last Christmas Eve.

Therefore we were so grateful this hotel were able to welcome us, comfortable hotel and rooms, nice food, entertainment every night, great location and really wonderful friendly staff.

So we rebooked to return to the Palace Hotel again with a new itinerary in March 2024!

Finally yesterday some nice weather, and what a welcome relief.

I always try and find something new to do on each holiday tour we do, meaning we don’t repeat things too much, so yesterday was a visit to Babbacombe Model Village

Why I left this little gem so long I don’t know, but we had a lovely couple of hours here. The gardens set within 4 acres are immaculate, the attention to detail on the models superb and just a joy to wander.

It actually celebrates 60 years this year, and with the love you can see that goes into this place long may it continue.

Well after arriving in Paignton to lovely blue sky’s and warm sunshine on Monday, and ready to enjoy our a week away, it just hasn’t stopped raining since.

I have to take my hat of to everyone with me this week, a full coach too, who have just got on with it and joined with visits to Brixham, Totnes and Dartmouth and enjoyed extra downtime to put their feet up.

Comfortable hotel, staff are lovely, everyone’s getting on and plenty of laughs along the way.

It’s just nice to be away, now we can do it!
