This was me one year ago today October 7th 2023. I was away on a work trip as I am now,
and had been out sightseeing in Rhodes old town visiting the history and ruins and taking pictures completely and utterly oblivious to the utter carnage taking place in the tiny country (for those that don’t know it’s the size of Wales) where my son lives. Thousands of terrorists infiltrated Israel’s borders and murdered, butchered, r***d (and far worse) over 1200 people and took over 250 hostages including many children and elderly (the youngest 9months old who is still there with his 5 year old brother). I stopped posting any more of my trip and made a pact that I would not continue to post the rest of my trip until all the hostages were freed. I still have not uploaded the rest of that trip. Having conversations with people recently it seems a lot of people are not fully aware of the level of atrocities that happened on that fateful day. Imagine your kids of 18/19/20 and in their twenties going to a music festival like Reading, to just dance and have fun, but thousands of terrorists burst in with guns and literally murder hundreds of them, ra**ng girls, taking some as hostages (god only knows what has happened to these girls every day since), murdering over 400 from the music festival in cold blood. Dragging some bodies to Gaza (where they still remain). Not to mention the hundreds young and old killed and kidnapped
in their beds at 6.30am from various kibbutzim (their homes). A literal horror film playing out and all the while Hamas recorded the footage of all they did on their go pros with pride and live streamed it all for hours while this nightmare went on and on.
When I finally got onto some WiFi some hours later and spoke to Sam (who was thankfully safe and ok) I felt sick to my stomach and have felt this pretty much ever since. I can’t bear to think of those poor hostages (and their families) still living this utter nightmare an entire year later.
All the hostages and their families are in my prayers constantly and I desperately hope the situation can be resolved somehow and pray for a peaceful future for all. 🙏🏻

Hanoi, … our first stop. A little intro to Vietnam.
So far, safe to say we all love Vietnam. Bustling Hanoi, colours, sights, smells, Vietnamese egg coffee, temples and a cyclo tour. A great start.

Anantara Bo Phut Koh Samui, this is the first of two Anantara properties we stayed at in Koj Samui. Bo Phut is a Beachfront property close to bars, restaurants and the fisherman’s village market. This is a family resort. Great location and very polite attentive staff. Off now to Anantara Lawana our next stop.
