This is a post I never thought I would write.

Stingray is for sale.

With the advent of having two hard boats at Mylor, Moonshadow and Moonray, with Moonray being almost as fast as Stingray but with a greater range, the need for Stingray has become negligible. What we need is a RIB we can take to other destinations by trailer. We have that RIB, Starfish, having just purchased a decent trailer for it. Starfish needs work, including new tubes. Hence the need to sell Stingray to fund the work.

We will be offering Stingray for sale at £10,000 with all the coding safety gear. Included will be liferaft, lifejackets, Hand held VHF, first aid kit, backup anchor etc.

Or, without the safety gear for £8,000 which will still include a VHF, anchor and chain, MP3 player, bottle rack.

There is no plotter/sounder included in the sale.

The trailer is OK for launching but not suitable for road travel.
The engines turn over but very slowly, with an extra battery connected directly to the starter, they will spin faster and run. The battery cables, terminals etc. did not like not being used and will all need replacing, hence the slow turning over.

The faded pink deck has gone.

Stingray will have it's special antifouling next year, for now we have recoated the rest of the Hull. From faded red, which looks pink, to post office red. The deck will be next.

A good scrub and Stingray is looking better. Hopefully managed to stop the water ingress into the fuel tank, just in case, we are gonna put another water trap/filter inline. While we are at it, the fuel tank breather will be routed differently.

We've started on Stingray now. First issue, water getting in the tank. Whoever designed the tank probably won an award for stupidity! The top of the fl**ge is lower than the surrounding tank, so any water that gets in that groove, would go into the tank before it would overflow. Asked for a price on a new tank, if not within budget, it'll be a job for Sikaflex.

We have booked a stand for DIVE at the NEC in October. We have attended DIVE since 2008, only missing 2020 due to the pandemic. Hopefully this will go ahead, it will be great to catch up with anyone who isn't able to get down and dive with us this year.

Fishing Impossible, series 2. Stingray was used as a transfer boat, taking Jason from Mylor, where he got out of the helicopter, to Nigel's boat, Wave Chieftan IV, which was about 18 miles offshore.
