Angus is famous the world over for Aberdeen Angus cattle and Arbroath Smokies. Let’s take a closer look at the produce which comes from our rich grazing land and expansive coastline as we continue our journey of discovery for Scotland Food & Drink Fortnight.

Kinclune Estate and Organic Farm have a herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle and a breeding programme to help continue the legacy of this esteemed breed. You can pick up Aberdeen Angus steaks in our many independent butchers shops, dotted throughout Angus, and on menus across the county.

But it’s not all about beef here in Angus, we also have farmers like Newton Farm championing goat meat as a leaner, healthier alternative to more traditional meats, and venison suppliers like 3rd generation farmers at Pitscandly with their herd of traditionally reared red deer and Framedrum Venison, who champion the supply of locally sourced & sustainable wild roe deer.
