Anyone selling a cheap car or a chariot pulled by badgers?? 🦡🦡🦡

So apparently I have incredible luck 🤦‍♀️my pride and joy was involved in an accident yesterday and due to the age of the vehicle, it's been written off. I can't afford to get a van again, but if you or anyone you know is selling a car, hit me up asap pretty please! 🙏

End of the year and it's been a mixed bag - of cigarette butts and coffee cups, friendship and good cheer 😊

I've loved being motivated to get out and pick up some litter on my usual walks. It's even inspired me to get out and see new places and share some wholesome moments with friends and family!

Wishing you all the best for 2024 and let's try and do our little bit for nature 😊

Really enjoyed the Mountain Weather training day at the Met Office yesterday. For a cloud geek like me I was in heaven!

New soles 🌿🗻💚

In the interest of trying to reduce my impact and reuse things rather than buy new, I used Scarpa's resole service on my Zodiac Mid boots. The upper was in good condition, I'd just worn through the sole, so away they went!
New vibram soles on, new laces and reproofed, they're ready to head out to the mountains again!

When you're faced with big disappointment, that's when your friends really shine. It's been a tough ol' week but getting out with these guys today has really helped calm my mind. I've been able to take the positives, brush myself off and refocus on new adventures.

Crackin' first day out with Lisa! The weather was looking a little undecided so we headed out to The Pap of Glencoe and had a fabulous time, if not a little sore after (see last pic!). We only got one downpour lasting a few minutes then beautiful views 😊 Roll on tomorrow...

Such a fun day scrambling with and Luna on Fiacaill Ridge! Managed to avoid the iffy weather on the west coast by heading east to the Cairngorm National Park and what a day we had 😊 Thanks so much for the leg stretcher, so great to be out and about and having a great natter the whole day, so good for the soul! .

DofE moments! (Duke of Edinburgh award for those not in the know!) Participants on their Silver Expedition training in Wales working for Rich Adventure. They really had all extremes from crazy storm conditions, freezing cold and wet to gorgeous hot sun! Very resilient bunch of young women, very impressed.

Final morning - paddling from Dores to Inverness. We had our first unfavourable wind today blowing against us, but we've been so lucky that it didn't matter 😊 another stunning day and what a lovely wee paddle to finish off with. Watched fly fishermen at the weir taking in the sun, doggies out for their daily run and tourists heading out on the hunt for the Loch Ness monster! A brilliant end to a gorgeous few days away. Time really slowed down, it's amazing when time no longer matters just how much you can get done in a day and how much enjoyment you can feel when you're present in the moment. Thanks to .meets.world for the invite on their , I had a blast 💪🏞🚣‍♀️🏔

Day three....

I don't think I've ate so well on an expedition ever! This morning we had fancy scrambled egg, beans and cheese wraps. For lunch we had a choice of toasted bagels with Nutella and banana or with peanut butter and sliced apple. For dinner we've had veggie curry and rice with a side dish of dahl! 😊 I want to adventure with these guys more often if this is how they do it!

Bit more varied weather today with patches of April showers but still stunning scenery. Loch Oich was like glass and earlier on Loch Locky we played with the sail. We even had a cheeky beverage at The Eagle the Floating Inn, what a day!

Roll on tomorrow...

Great first day on the Great Glen Canoe Trail. Fab group I'm just getting to know, super welcoming and great fun - it's going to be a good wee trip! 😊 Banavie to Gairlochy today, short and sweet, followed by hearty dinner and mucho laugh-o's playing 'Ocho Loco' around the makeshift nalgene lantern 😂

It's so true that just the act of 'getting out', of being in nature, is restorative. For the body it works muscles that may have been forgotten, the senses are alive with new textures, smells and sounds. For the mind it is grounding, a place to vent and realise how small and insignificant those concerns really were. A place to challenge your negative thoughts and feel some successes.

Today was one of those days. Shared with a friend, the chance to talk, to laugh, to share was priceless. To fall in boggy mud and it not matter, to be vulnerable and scared when the howling wind was knocking you off your feet and not feel weak. To decide today was not a summit day and that be OK, no judgement, no disappointment. Wonderful in every way 😊

Sometimes it's the company that makes the day rather than the views and today was most certainly one of those days! Guiding for Abacus Mountain Guides i got to hangout with one determined, lovely lady. She's just done the West Highland Way in 6 days, is about to go on to do the Great Glen Way and thought, why not stick summitting Ben Nevis in the middle! Phew i'm exhausted just typing it! Fair play to you Sam, all the way from Australia and doing it all on her own to raise money for Christmas presents for the homeless in Sydney, what a legend! It really was a challenge today too with biting cold wind and a wee drop of rain! :D
