We heartily recommend the restaurant / cafe at The Brush & Broom Restaurant at Hillbrush - an enjoyable 20m walk from The Dog House and now open on Saturday evenings. We pizza is excellent, as is the rest of the menu!

Soak up the summer vibes on our sunny terrace! We're open and ready to serve you a delicious light meal or a refreshing cold drink.

Enjoy al fresco dining with the delicious dishes on our menu, all conveniently located just off the A303. We're even dog-friendly, so bring your furry friend along - water bowls are ready!

Recently we donated a raffle prize of a 2 night midweek break at The Dog House and managed to raise a whopping £805.00 for the charity! We have some rules at The Dog House that your pooches will approve of!

1) Dogs are actively encouraged for cuddles on the sofa 🛋

2) Please give your dog lots of treats 🍗

3) It's always a good time for walks, especially to 1 of our 3 dog friendly pubs 🍻

4) Please no smoking in or outside the property 🚭

5) When checking out please shut all windows and lock the door before returning the key to the key box 🔑

We found another Dog House! We’re having our own doggy holiday and found this little pub in Coleford in the Forest of Dean. Sadly it wasn’t open when we went past but we’ll be sure to stop when it’s open!

We all love a good holiday, but it’s not always easy as an LGBTQIA+ individual, couple or family. This ranges from the awkward conversation with reception about wanting a double bed and not two singles, to the far more serious fears over personal safety. But fear not, The Dog House has you covered!

We understand that some dogs have a Mum and a Dad, some dogs have two Mums and some dogs have 2 Dads!

So we wanted to reassure our future guests that The Dog House is an LGBTQIA+ friendly holiday cottage where you can feel relaxed and safe during your staycation.

Delicious pizzas from for a Saturday night treat! Only 5 minutes drive away from The Dog House!

Delicious lunch at in Bath! Cheddar curd fritter, asparagus with gribiche (forgot to take photo), lamb ragu tagliatelle and turbot. Bath is approximately 45 minutes drive from Mere and well worth a day trip to see the beautiful Georgian architecture, stroll through the botanical gardens, get some shopping in and of course enjoy a delicious lunch. Message us direct for dog friendly recommendations if you’re bringing your pooch. Ours had a day with his pals while we went to the Spa!

The Dog House is located in Mere, Wiltshire. Easily accessible from the A303 with lovely countryside walks from the door - perfect for your pooch!

The village has 3 dog friendly pubs as well as a local deli and Co-op for your convenience.

We charge £100 per night with no surcharge for cleaning or pets. We welcome all size and number of dogs.

A lovely stroll through Zeals and Bourton just down the road form The Dog House. A quick refreshment was needed at , with excellent customer service from P-C the pub cat!
