If first dance lessons are on your 2025 wedding planning agenda, get ahead and start planning your first dance well in advance. I recommend no less than 6 months ahead of the big day.

Still processing the magic that happened last weekend at E&E's wedding. So grateful for the opportunity to teach Waltz at their stunning winter (and windy, thanks to ) wedding at ! E&E's guests embraced their inner ballroom pros and got fully involved!

The couple had a first waltz lesson with me in the Summer on a sunny day in their garden but were adamant they didn't want an 'all eyes on them' first dance. What a glorious way to give a nod to a dance floor moment, by sharing the load with the guests...who were also given the chance to learn a few moves, accompanied by . So beautiful to have the live music, just to make the evening feel like something out of an epic move scene.

💃🏽Your first dance, your way!🕺🏾

Every year I teach I understand more about what makes a successful first dance journey for my wedding planning couples:
💃🏽I adapt my process for each couple;
🕺🏾the choreo is tailored and tweaked as we go, to suit their personalities, or we talk about what bits they do/don’t like; and
💍 I give mindset support to prep them for the dancefloor.

I love it when my more introvert clients suddenly unleash their dancefloor alter ego that they didn’t realise they had within them! I clock it, tell them I’ve spotted it - quite often they then make a point of bringing their alter ego to every lesson 🤪🤩💃🏽🕺🏾.

Of course I don’t force anything but sometimes we just need a little permission and encouragement to just Let It Flowwww!!!

Sometimes they find themselves asking to add in a move - effectively becoming choreographers themselves - and I’m like ’bring it onnn’! I’m not precious about my choreo as I want them to be comfortable and proud of their routine.

Just love the ever evolving journey with each unique couple, to support them with a learning process and a first dance that works for them💜

P.s. don’t forget to start learning your first dance well in advance of your wedding - it takes time to learn a first dance that you can confidently and calmly share on your wedding day x

Not sure how I have a 7 year old now. Meet my little dancing diva who had her birthday last week. She’s a phenomenal dancer and gymnast already with hardly any training. The sky is the limit! 🥰🥰🥰💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💜
