Finally A beautiful day!! The maintenance team have been in this morning, Patio jet washed and looking much better. Sadly only a couple of nice days then we must brace ourselves for storm Kennedy heading our way next Friday ☔
Well I had great plans for projects over the winter, thanks to the weather all projects are on hold for the Autumn, finally managed to mow the lawns today and do a little weeding, the only benefit of wet ground is that they pull up easily 😄 a beautiful end to the day though

Spring is definitely on it's way, we're a little behind with garden jobs thanks to all the wet weather, so I've been decorating instead!!
A bright, breezy and busy day at Henry’s
An early visit from Bates Environmental to empty the septic tank
Openreach arrived to install the new wifi connection
The heating engineer arrived to service the boiler
Pest control arrived to deal with moles. All in all not a bad result!! The photos show this afternoons very strange sunset, the dark clouds are in the west covering the setting sun, the pink clouds are looking East from the kitchen window, all a little back to front.
Nevertheless stunning in every direction, come and see for yourselves!

Good Morning, I've had a couple of cancellations so now have some availability for February and March. If you feel the need to get away from it all, enjoy some peace and quiet, take a stroll with the dogs, drive through lovely countryside and stop for a delicious pub lunch, or maybe just kick back and read a book, then Henry's Retreat is just the spot.

A busy garden day today, hedges, lawns, borders, trimming shrubs, pruning, mulching then just a moment to take it all in ❤ I have a a couple of weeks available in October and November if you would love a view like this.
Sadly this week's guests had to cancel their stay at Henry’s, meaning we have a little window to catch up on some important jobs. Mark Allen our fab plumber has been today to service the gas fire, new pilot mechanism fitted, gas safe certificate granted, carbon monoxide monitor checked.
Legionella report completed, new grab handle fitted in the shower and also by the toilet, new soap tray mounted on the wall. All followed by a good cuppa and a piece of cake.
The oil tank has been filled up ready for winter.
I've managed to cut most of the hedges and cleared most of the small front border, all dug over and mulched, lots of worms doing some very good work, much more to do but cracking on! I'm always trying to make improvements to make your stay, comfortable, memorable and above all safe!! Happy to listen to ideas or suggestions x
I missed the opportunity to take a stunning photo of the Red Arrows, I was up a ladder cutting the hedge when they flew directly overhead glinting beautifully in the sunshine, but a while later this beauty flew by. We are so lucky to have all of this history in our wonderful county, come and visit ❤

Guest ready again!!
This little one found it's way into the sunroom this morning, after a lot of flapping and pooping (thankfully not on the furniture!!) He let me pick him up, he clung to my finger for a while then heard his mummy calling and flew off into the conifer tree ❤
Good morning, well it certainly hasn't been the best summer weather wise but we have been very busy here at Henry's meeting new guests and also welcoming guests back for return visits, many of whom are now firm friends, it's always a pleasure to meet their four legged friends too like little Alfie who has brought his Mum and Dad back to Henry's this week. The garden is looking great despite the howling winds and pouring rain. Looking forward to the rest of the year with more guests to welcome and a few tweeks planned if time allows!
A busy Changeover day today, a little bit of gardening time after the house was finished, the bees were so happy in the Lavender I just had to do this. Hope you enjoy it. 🐝

A busy couple of days at Henry’s. Yesterday was Pat testing all electrical items. Legionella certificate done. Gas safe certificate done. Lawns cut, borders weeded and mulched, final touches before welcoming our lovely guests for their Easter break 🤪 An early start this morning, minus 3 but stunning!
