Brand new to the holiday let market, the beautiful Laurel Cottage!!
Laurel Cottage is a quintessentially English Country Cottage, secretly located and accessed via a private courtyard in the heart of the ancient market town of Guisborough, North Yorkshire. It was featured in Ideal Home magazine, which gives an idea of it decoration and credentials!! This beautiful three bedroom sandstone cottage and gorgeous, large cottage garden dates back to approximately 1760, and its interiors remain full of character and history; from original beamed ceilings, to original bedroom fireplaces and exposed Priory stone of the staircase.
The cottage sleeps up to six people. On the ground floor it benefits from a lovely, cosy lounge with a beamed ceiling and a wood burning stove; an open plan kitchen with breakfast bar and a double range cooker, an orangery dining room with a stunning glass lantern roof, and a downstairs bathroom with over bath shower. There are three bedrooms upstairs; the master bedroom benefits from a dramatic vaulted ceiling and chandelier, a decorative original fireplace and a king size bed; the second bedroom also features a stunning decorative, original fireplace and a double bed; the third bedroom is a cosy room with a daybed that pulls out to create a king size bed. The classic country cottage garden is very large and has a number of seating areas, including a large patio area. It is enclosed so great for your dogs! We are happy to allow an unlimited number of (well behaved) dogs! Whilst we do not have private parking, we are able to provide a visitors permit to the carpark on the cottages door step.
Guisborough is full of lovely bars and great places to eat, a large number of which are located literally 30 seconds walk from the door of Laurel Cottage! The high street, Westgate, has lots of independent shops to wander. Guisborough Priory is also on the doorstep of the cottage, the huge arched window wall has stood since the 11th century and the grounds retain so much of the history of the Priory since its dissolution by Henry 8th. Guisborough Forest, the Cleveland Hills and The Cleveland Way are only a fifteen minute walk away.
The town is located on the very edge of the North York Moors, and provides a perfect gateway to explore the moors National Park and as an extra bonus it is located only ten minutes drive from the beautiful North Yorkshire Coast with lovely towns like Saltburn, Staithes and Whitby very close by! Guisborough is also an hours drive from York, Newcastle and Leeds.
