So as I prepare to leave Nepal next week, I'm all booked up for coming back and joining a classic trek this October - the famous - Annapurna Circuit!
This trip runs from October 6 - October 23 2024.

It's a much more trodden path than my recent expedition but will immerse you deep in Himalayan beauty and an introduction to the wonderful Nepali people and culture!

CHALLENGING rate 5 - you need to have a good level of fitness and past trekking experience is recommended!
We will be staying in warm, cosy simple tea - houses with the added luxury of comfortable hotels before and after the trek.

✨A few highlights -
After a couple of nights in Kathmandu with a day exploring the old part of the city, we head by mini bus to Bandipur to spend a night before several hours by bus and then jeep to Dharapani, to the start of our trek.

🌄 IN BRIEF 🌄
Trek through rhododendron forests, mountain foothills, across barren, rocky landscapes and snow-covered passes, staying in cosy family-run tea house lodges along the way.

Thorong La - Cross this challenging high pass, 5416m, offering stunning views across the Himalaya

P**n Hill - Climb to the top of P**n Hill and enjoy sunrise views across to the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri

Pokhara - Take a well-earned rest by the lakeside and enjoy a cake at one of the towns many bakeries

My wonderful new location here in Naxal, Kathmandu for the next few nights.
Open, spacious apartment with wonderful view from bright and airy communal sitting room and kitchen.
Excellent WiFi for yoga zooms on Monday, plenty of space to set up and work from the desk located in my room, ensuite bathroom!
Outdoor space, little table and chairs, indoor plants giving an extra homely feel!
Fantastic location away from the tourist areas but within easy walking distance!
What a find! Gratitude to Basanta Adventure Treks & Expeditions For the invitation.. Not sure I'm going to want to leave!

Love these updates from Amartya futsal club in Kirtipur, Kathmandu valley!
Through Treehope Travel we are able to contribute a little every month to support the running costs of this club.
Sport has so many benefits to mind, body and spirit. Something I always made available to my own children when they were growing up, however difficult times were.
In Nepal, especially in cities, open space for football pitches has hugely diminished so futsal pitches are more widely spread.
There are very few government fundings available for the upkeep and running of these clubs. As one of the poorest countries in South Asia, it is something I feel very passionate about supporting.
Sport should be available to anyone anywhere, not just those that can afford it!
Amartya Academy coaches both adults and children. They participate in tournaments regularly (when funds are available) and the coaches volunteer their time 3-4 mornings a week.
Two of the coaches have represented Nepal in world cup competitions (of which they had to find their own funds for flights etc - that's dedication for you!!)
