🔵⚪️ The U11 Juniors hosted Ledbury Swifts in their first match after the Christmas break, and it didn’t take long for the action to unfold. Finnley J opened the scoring in the first minute, gliding past the Ledbury midfield and defense before finishing confidently. Just moments later, Oscar J doubled the lead, curling a shot into the corner.

Finnley continued to cause problems for Ledbury with his intelligent movement and ability to pick up the ball deep, while Flynn W and Theo E controlled the midfield. At the back, Romeo, Archie, Mali, and Louis were solid, dealing with any Ledbury counter-attacks.

By the 25-minute mark, Oscar J had netted a superb four goals, taking his season tally even higher, and the team went into halftime with a comfortable lead.

In the second half, with several changes made, the Juniors struggled to maintain their momentum. Ledbury, to their credit, kept battling hard and were rewarded with a well-executed goal from a pull-back at the byline.

However, the Juniors responded swiftly. Lucas P powered through and squared the ball for Charlie A, who calmly finished to complete the scoring.

The final whistle blew with a comfortable victory for the Juniors. A special mention goes to Finnley J, who was unplayable in the first half and caused chaos for Ledbury throughout and with that got a well deserved player of the match award. Well done, Finnley! 🔵⚪️

Good luck to Ledbury for the rest of the season!

🔵⚪️ Our U11 Juniors travelled to Ledbury this morning looking to continue their great start to the season. It didn’t take long for the team to find their stride with an early chance for Oscar J who’s effort was saved. Chase B looked to pick up from last week where he scored a brace and was tormenting the Ledbury right side with his movement and skill. After 5 minutes Finnley J found Chase B in space and he tucked it away into the corner of the net to get the Juniors rolling.
Not long after, another good move saw Thomi S play Oscar J in who finished well into the corner. Thomi was then put clean through and was tripped from behind when closing in on the keeper. However, Archie R needed no introduction as he placed the ball down for the free kick and hit a beauty that sailed into the top corner. Just before half time Juniors won a penalty for a foul in the box which Archie R stepped up and dispatched to take the team into half time with a healthy lead.

Message at half time was to continue moving the ball quickly and get the ball in the channels.

Finnley J was quick to react and 5 minutes after the restart, he put Thomi through who was strong on the ball holding off the Ledbury defence as he slotted the ball home past the advancing keeper. Juniors were relentless with Louis H and Archie R winning the ball high and not giving Ledbury any space. Lucas P then broke through midfield and put Oscar J in with a lovely outside of the foot pass who finished calmly past the keeper.
Heading into the last 10 minutes Musa T went on a mazey run, beating a couple of defenders with brilliant footwork and finished in the corner to cap the scoring and close the game out.
Player of the Match today was Chase who came out of the blocks firing, showing attacking intent but not neglecting his defensive duties. He got the team off the mark and set the tone for the match. Well done Chase! 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ Our U11 Juniors managed to dodge the weather as they hosted Pegasus Flyers in a hotly anticipated encounter between two good footballing teams. Flyers came out of the block showing their intent forcing Lucas P in goal for the Juniors into a couple of saves early on. Then uncharacteristically the Juniors took the lead after 6 mins as Lucas P went long and found Oscar J who still had some work to do, to get through the Pegasus defence and slot the ball into the corner for the Juniors to take an early lead. This sparked Pegasus into life as their number 10 found space out wide and scored from distance as the ball flew into the far top corner. This seemed to settle both teams down with some good football on display but it was Oscar J again who was working the Pegasus back line all day that picked the ball up in front of the Pegasus defence, beat his player and finished well in the corner to send the Juniors in at half time with a slender lead.

Half time team talk was about keeping the momentum and work rate to force turnovers and create chances high up the pitch this time with the wind behind them. Second half started with Oscar J just missing the target and captain Charlie S having a shot well saved. Theo L was starting to find space and hit a well struck effort just over as he looked to turn the screw against his former club. Then half way through the second half, Oscar J completed his hat trick beating his defender and finishing firmly across the goalkeeper to give the Juniors some breathing room. This settled the team down and confidence was high as Chase B decided to make his impact on the game. First he worked the ball well down the left and finished at the near post as the linesman showed his honesty flagging the ball had crossed the line. Chase wasn’t finished their as two minutes later he worked a short corner well with Theo L then unleashed a screamer from out wide into the far top corner putting the icing on the cake. In the last play of the game, the Pegasus right winger broke free and was baring down on goal, she unselfishly squared the ball which found the Juniors defender sliding in to clear but unfortunately knocked it into his own net. That drew the final whistle and put an end to a competitive encounter between the two sides.

Player of the match today was decided as a team effort. Many top performances put in with everyone working for each other. Special mentions to Chase and Oscar for their goal contributions, but Archie R, Louis H and Romeo R in front of Lucas P kept it tight and allowed Theo L and Charlie S to operate the midfield. Well done Juniors! 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ The Juniors hosted Orleton this morning. As expected it took the boys a while to settle into their groove as they figured out Orleton who set out their attacking intent with 2 strikers deployed to keep Romeo R and Archie R on their toes. In the first 10 mins it was the two Juniors defenders that had shots on goal as they looked to break down the Orleton resolve. On the 14th minute Oscar J found his forward partner Thomi S who tucked the ball away to give the Juniors the lead. Then Finn J took centre stage and scored twice just before half time to give the Juniors a comfortable lead into the break.

Second half the message was again to keep the momentum and keep the ball moving quickly. Within a couple of minutes Lucas P had stuck the post with post with a left footed strike, Finn J shot wide and captain Chalrlie S had a shot well saved. The introduction of Mali L in defence was working well with Mali making multiple interceptions. Bodhi R then rattle the crossbar and dragged one wide showing his attacking intent from wing back. 10 minutes into the restart saw Archie R split the defence with a great pass finding Oscar J to get himself off the mark. Bodhi R then added to the tally after good work from Lucas P who then crossed for Bodhi to tap home. The team still wasn’t finished and Oscar J doubled his goals for the day when Chase B found him inside the box to finish. Chase B then got in on the attack scoring a tap in after great work from Oscar J. Just before the end, some great work from Charlie A then delivered to Chase B who finished well to top the scoring. A good days work against an Orleton side that never gave up and worked hard for the whole game.

Player of the match went to Archie R today who defended impeccably well, played out well from the back and got an assist. Well done Arch! 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ The U11 Juniors headed out to Minster today in what turned out to be an enthralling encounter. Before the game, the ask was for the team to start quickly and dominate from the off. However after 8 minutes the team was 2-0 with Minster capitalising on hesitation in the box and from a well worked corner. Juniors needed to react which they did almost immediately when Theo L found Thomi S to tuck in a pull back and get the Juniors going. Before long before Louis H worked the ball out well to Charlie A who played in Oscar J to finish well into the corner of the net and get the team back on a level footing. Juniors then started to put things together and quickly added 2 more before half time. Finnley J lift the ball over the keeper to take the lead before Chase B found Oscar J to score again just before half time but not before Theo L hit a rasping drive from distance which rattled the crossbar
The chat at half time was to find the angles for passes and play into space. However Minister scored 6 mins into the 2nd half after a goal kick found a Minster midfielder who shot from distance which had just enough power to go in after Lucas P got a strong hand on it. Juniors continued to work hard for each other with all the lads playing wingback putting in massive shifts too. Romeo R, Chase B, Musa T and Charlie A all were working hard for the team with the lads all covering wingback positions having to put in massive shifts to get up and down the flanks to support the attacks but provide defensive cover when out of possession. Lucas P then made a good save when Minister went through 1 on 1 which proved pivitol as after that, the Juniors were industrious and broke down Minister with Oscar adding a couple more to his and the teams tally.

Player of the match was a joint affair. Oscar J with his scoring prowess and tireless work rate and Theo L who has come into the Juniors midfield and got hold of the ball well, played some defence splitting passes and distributed the ball into good areas. Well in lads 👏 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ The U11 Juniors visited Wellington Youth this morning in the 1/4 finals of the Tony Cole Cup. In the first half, Juniors were playing up the slope on a heavy pitch and took time to adapt to the surface with Lucas P being called into action early on after a back pass was left short but Lucas stood up well to make the save at the feet of the attacker. With the team working hard Musa T was introduced midway through the first half and after Oscar J had hit the post, Musa beat a couple of players on the byline to cut inside and finish past the keeper to give the Juniors the lead. Wellington continued to play some nice football and were very well structured but unable to find a way past the Juniors back line as the teams went in at half time with the score at 1-0.
Second half the Juniors coming down the slope managed to create a few more chances. Musa T had a drive from distance saved well by the hosts Goalkeeper but also had to remain vigilant as Wellington looked dangerous on the break and moved the ball nicely in tough conditions. Captain Charlie S was working hard covering a lot of ground and putting in some good tackles in midfield to keep Wellington at bay. However with time running out, Oscar J pressed well from the front forcing an error which left him with a tap in to give the Juniors a 2 goal lead. Wellington didn’t give up and had another 1 on 1 after a ball over the top left their striker staring down Lucas P who managed to get the better of him again and keep the clean sheet in tact and book their place in the semi final of the cup.

Player of the match was shared this week between Musa T for the impact he made, being composed on the ball and grabbing a goal. Lucas P also shared the accolade making a number of good saves and keeping a clean sheet. Well done boys 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ The Juniors hosted FC Phoenix today. The game kicked off with a minutes silence for remembrance weekend. Again another slow start caught the Juniors out when a long ball found a Phoenix player clean through 1 on 1 and finished well into the corner after only 5 minutes. Phoenix were looking strong as the Juniors were struggling to get a foothold in the game and conceded again as the winger got in behind to finish at the near post to double their lead. The boys then looked to respond and came agonisingly close with Oscar J hitting the post and then having a goal chalked off for offside. Going in at half time a couple of tactical changes were made to try and turn things around.

Second half the Juniors started to find their stride and started to dominate the ball. Oscar J was working hard across the line forcing the opposition goalkeeper into a number of good saves. Then Finnley J delivered a corner which found Lucas P who steered it in to give the Juniors hope. Musa T forced another good save from the goalkeeper and Louis H rattled the cross bar when the ball dropped on the half volley from distance. With the game looking like it was going to end in defeat, captain Charlie S bravely won a free kick deep in the Juniors half. Archie R caught Phoenix cold and put a great ball through which found Lucas P racing through to slot it home and salvage a point for the Juniors.

Player of the match today went to Lucas P who came out of goal at half time and scored both the Juniors goals but the whole team deserve credit for not letting their heads go down and producing a strong second half performance. Well in boys 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ The Juniors made the journey to Ledbury on a very wet morning today. Again playing a team unfamiliar to them, they knew this was going to be a tough challenge. Both sides went into the encounter undefeated in the league and having to manage the conditions the weather brought.

Ledbury started well and surprised the Juniors with their speed on the transition. A free kick on 4 mins opened the scoring for Ledbury with a nice strike which moved with the wind beating Lucas P in goal. The Juniors kept their heads knowing first half was going to be tough playing up the slope and against the wind. There were half chances for Oscar J and Thomi S but it was Ledbury who were looking more dangerous forcing Lucas P into action a number of times. Juniors then settled and managed to get the ball down and play to put Thomi S through one on one who then calmly slotted the ball into the corner of the net. The rest of the first half was played at a fast pace with Charlie A and Finnley J working tirelessly up and down the line providing defensive security but also getting forward to support the forwards. Half time soon came with the teams level in a very even contest.

Second half the Juniors were working with the slope and wind hoping to use that to their advantage. However much like the first half, Juniors found themselves back behind after a couple of minutes after the restart. A mistake with the defensive structure left a player over wide who took advantage of the one on one to give Ledbury the lead again. With plenty of time left the Juniors didn’t panic and showed again their resilience quickly winning a corner which was flicked on by Oscar J into Archie R’s path who finished into the bottom corner to level the tie once again. Then the weather took a turn for the worse, Charlie S and Flynn W worked tirelessly in the midfield constantly getting their foot in and winning tackles. Romeo R and Archie R were standing strong at the back and the wing backs on rotation were all putting in massive efforts working as a team together. Then with just over 10 mins left the hard work paid off as the team press forced a mistake at the back for Ledbury and Oscar J needed no invitation, rounding the keeper and finishing with his weak foot to give the Juniors the lead for the first time in the game. The last ten minutes the team managed the game very well, keeping the ball and nullifying any attacks as the weather was getting worse closing the game out to get the 3 points. Today was a proper team performance which was really pleasing to see the team all working for each other but Player of the match was a joint affair shared by Charlie A and Finnley J who got through a serious amount of work up and down the pitch. Well done boys 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ The Juniors travelled to Broomy Hill this morning to face Hinton in the league. The pitch was heavy which made playing football difficult at times and led to a very scrappy start to the game. After 8 mins Oscar J pounced to tap in from close range after he was found well by Flynn W with a cross. A minute later Oscar doubled his and the Juniors tally scoring well from a left footed finish and Archie R scored a free kick into the top corner of the net to send Juniors in at half time with a comfortable lead.

Second half the team moved the ball much better and created lots of opportunities to score. Oscar added 3 more to his tally as Archie also popped up again on the scoresheet. Charlie S converted a penalty and Thomi was found by Louis H to complete the scoring.

Player of the match was Flynn W who worked hard linking defence to attack and played some nice football. Well done Flynn! 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ Our U11 Juniors travelled to Tenbury this morning in the next round of the Tony Cole Cup. The game started very scrappy with both sides trying to figure each other out. Juniors won a penalty in the 4th which they failed to convert, missing the target.
15 mins in, Oscar J popped up and opened the scoring finishing at the near post. Juniors began a period of dominance but got caught on the break failing to intercept the ball which allowed the Tenbury play to slot the ball under the Goalkeeper with only a couple of mins remaining in the first half. However just before the break, Juniors restored their lead when Oscar J set the ball back to Lucas P who shot from the edge of the box. The ball took a big deflection, wrong footing the keeper and ended up in the back of the net taking the Juniors in at the break with a narrow lead.
Half time team talk was again focusing on moving the ball quicker and making better decisions.
Second half the Juniors took it up a level and moved the ball better. Oscar J added to his earlier goal with Finn J also more effective in the final third bagging a brace. The pick of the goals was from Charlie A who was well found by Lucas P and tucked away in the far corner.
Player of the Match went to Romeo R who took one for the team going in goal showing great teamwork but also making some important saves. Well done Romeo! 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ The Juniors hosted our fellow Club mates The Bulldogs this morning. The Juniors who welcomed back Bodhi R for his first game of the season following injury got to work quickly and were rewarded when Oscar J slotted Thomi S in to get the Juniors off the mark. The Bulldogs looked dangerous on the break but were well marshalled between Louis H, Archie R and Romeo R.
Thomi managed to double his tally before Romeo R flicked the ball to Oscar J who netted a good header. Thomi S then completed a first half hat trick and Charlie S added a brace to take the Juniors in at the break with a comfortable lead with the only negative being the loss of Mali L to an ankle injury.

Second half the Bulldogs made it difficult for the Juniors and had a couple of good chances to score but were thwarted by the defence or Lucas P in goal. The Juniors also stopped playing their football and making the wrong decisions which made things difficult for themselves giving plenty of room for development. Chase B managed to get on scoresheet scoring from out wide despatching it past the keeper.

Player of the match today was Louis H who was strong in the tackle winning the ball back well and was composed in his distribution playing out. Well in Louis!! 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ The U11 Juniors hosted Bartestree Bulls this morning in what turned out to be a game not for the purists. It was the usual slow start for the Juniors who were not getting their foot on the ball and getting their passes off. Chase B came off the bench and quickly got up to the pace of the game beating a man and shooting from distance across the keeper who got a valiant hand to it but couldn’t stop the ball going into the top corner. That should have settled the team but Bartestree were working hard and struck back to send the teams in level at half time. Halftime team talk revolved around work rate, desire and showing the quality that we have come to expect from this team. However Bartestree were dangerous on the break and their pacy striker ran through to put Bartestree in front shortly after the restart.
Juniors were getting frustrated as the opposition defended in numbers and found it hard to break them down. However for probably the only spell the Juniors actually got the ball down and played football they managed to score twice through Thomi S.
Louis H popped up again finishing well from a cross from Musa T to put the game to bed but a lot of lessons taken from the game today which will help this team develop.
Thomi S picked up the Player of the Match award today showing grit and determination to pick the team up when they were down. Well done Thomi 🔵⚪️
