🔵⚪️ The Juniors brought their league fixtures to a close today hosting Bartestree in a return fixture from only a couple of weeks ago. The teams know each other well and expected another tight game.

Juniors were slow to start this morning making some uncharacteristic errors in decision making as they tried to settle down early on. Bartestree were quick on the counter and defending very well keeping Oscar J and Thomi S at bay. Chances were limited and both teams knowing a goal would give momentum to whoever managed to get it.

Changes were made in personnel but the system was the same and it was Chase B who got free at the back post, his first touch took him away from goal but not before he was fouled in the box with the ref pointing to the spot.
Thomi S bravely stepped up to take it and despatched it into the bottom corner to give the Juniors the lead. There was a couple of half chances for both teams but nothing taken as the teams headed into half time.

Second half brought more changes with Romeo R coming in. Louis H was making some good tackles and bringing the ball out well against Bartestree’s tricky winger. Theo L and Flynn W were running their socks off in Centre Mid making tackles and looking to play forward. The teams were evenly matched and cancelling each other out until Bartestree broke into the box and looked to have won a penalty only for the referee to wave play on.

This lifted the Juniors and Charlie A took full advantage when coming inside, the ball fell nicely for Charlie to finish from outside the box with a half volley. That’s how the game finished with the Juniors league fixtures now wrapped up. They now look forward to their cup final at Edgar Street in May.

Player of the match went to Thomi today who put in an all action display showcasing some brilliant decision making and showed brilliant character scoring the penalty. Well done Thomi! 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ The Juniors made the short trip to Westfields Youth U12’s this evening making the most of the lighters days in a friendly match.

This was a test for the Juniors against a higher graded opposition in the year above but they started brightly with both sides figuring each other out. Oscar J and Thomi S looking lively up top with Skipper Charlie S and Theo L anchoring the midfield. Thomi S went close early on when well found by Oscar J. Finnley J then made his impact known from the right finding Oscar J with a clever pass who managed to d**k the ball over the keeper and put the Juniors 1-0 up.
Then Juniors increased their lead with a well worked goal that started from Lucas P in goal play wide to Archie R who then found Finnley J that put Oscar J in with another good through ball. Oscar needed no second invitation and dispatched it well against the on rushing ‘keeper.

Westfields were never going to take this lying down and managed to half the deficit just before half time when a long range shot was saved but followed in well by the striker to take the score into half time 2-1 to The Juniors.

Second half the Juniors were looking for more of the same and managed well with the substitutions coming thick and fast ensuring good minutes for all players. It was the Juniors keeper that was called upon first when Lucas P made a good save at full stretch. 11 mins in to the second half Thomi S found the net with a right-footed strike, restoring Lads Club's two-goal cushion. The team continued to press, and Theo Lewis scored from close range in the 47th minute, assisted by a corner from Finnley J. Juniors were well in control now and were moving the ball around nicely and making some good decisions.

Just before the end skipper Charlie S broke through the Westfields defence and had the presence of mind to square the ball into the path of Bodhi R to “round” off the scoring and give the Juniors a well earned victory.

Player of the match today went to Archie R who was solid again at the back and used his body well in defence keeping the opposition out. Well done Arch! 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ Our U11 Juniors travelled to Bartestree today taking them on in what promised to be a tough encounter.

Juniors came out of the blocks quickly. Oscar J, Charlie A and Flynn W all having chances to open the scoring. Finnley J then got free down the right side and delivered a brilliant cross that found Charlie A arriving at the back post, making a good connection that sent the ball in off the underside of the bar.
Oscar J was holding the ball up well and bringing others into play. However, Bartestree were refusing to lie down and managed to level the scores when the Juniors failed to clear their lines with their keeper on the floor gifting Bartestree an equaliser. As the half drew to a close, Musa T had a couple of efforts from distance that drew saves from the Bartestree keeper.

Second half Juniors started quickly again and it turned into third time lucky for Musa T who shot from distance again, this time going high into the top corner out of the Goalkeepers reach to put the Juniors back ahead. Theo L then had a shot just wide as the Juniors looked to press for bigger lead. Bartestree were looking dangerous on the break and the winger player a brilliant through ball putting the striker in 1 on 1. Lucas P in goal forced him wide but it was Archie R to the rescue clearing off the line to keep the Juniors lead in tact. Oscar J had a header just over the bar and Musa T played in Thomi S who put it just wide as the game drew to a
close giving the Juniors a narrow victory.

Player of the match today was Musa T who not only scored winner from distance, but also listed to instructions and make a big influence on the game. Well done Musa 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ The Juniors hosted Ledbury Swift Rovers today in a top-of-the-table clash, where the winner would likely secure the title. After a narrow victory in their previous encounter, it was expected to be a tightly contested match.

The game started with Charlie A charging down the left wing, sending an early shot just over. Oscar J followed with a shot saved by the Ledbury keeper. After 10 minutes, Archie R put the Juniors ahead, converting a free-kick from distance. This goal helped settle the Juniors, and they began to control the game. Captain Charlie S had an effort saved, while Archie R and Romeo R were solid at the back. The first half ended with the Juniors holding a slim lead.

At halftime, the focus was on maintaining intensity and adding quality in the final third. Changes were made, and Flynn W joined Charlie S in midfield, immediately getting on the ball and showing grit in the middle of the park.

The second half saw both teams struggle to break each other down. Defensively, the Juniors were resolute, with Charlie A, Finnley J, and Musa T working tirelessly from wing-back positions. Chase B and, later, Bodhi R defended from the front, putting in crucial shifts.

With 10 minutes left, a throw-in from Charlie S found Thomi S, who slipped between two defenders and calmly slotted the ball into the far corner to all but seal the victory. The Juniors held strong to close out the match and clinch the U12 HWGTA Blue title. A fantastic achievement for a team playing up a year, continuing to develop and grow together. 💙

Player of the Match: Charlie A – A constant threat down the left side, never stopped running, and worked tirelessly both in attack and defence. Well done, Charlie! 🔵⚪️

A huge thank you to our sponsor Infinite Building for supporting the team again this season!

🔵⚪️ Our U11 Juniors hosted FC Phoenix this morning. The players were treated by the weather conditions with the sun shining and the pitch in good condition.

FC Phoenix have been on a good run of late so the message to the players was to ensure they get up for the battle and get the ball down and play. It was a cagey 20 mins with both teams feeling each other out and looking to play out from the back. Juniors had a couple of chances with Oscar J and Finnley J getting through but putting chances just wide. Then Flynn W came on and won a good tackle in midfield before threading Thomi S through who managed to slot it into the corner just past the Phoenix keeper who almost kept it out.

Juniors had the bit between their teeth and quickly doubled the lead through Thomi again who managed to weave through the Phoenix back line and sneak it in off the post just a few minutes after breaking the deadlock. Phoenix were a constant threat on the break utilising their pace up top and their strength in the middle. Just before half time the Phoenix midfielder went past a couple of players before playing a nice reverse pass for the forward to run onto and finish.

Second half the message was to keep the energy levels up, get the ball down and play football. Phoenix made it difficult and the second half was a really good battle between two good teams. Juniors made a few good chances but weren’t able to convert them. Lucas P in goal was sweeping up well with Archie R and Romeo R proving hard to beat. Phoenix were pushing towards the end and the combination of Archie R and Lucas P managed to keep them at bay denying a good chance and securing the win.

Player of the match today was Archie R who stood up strong and played out well from the back. Well done Arch! Credit to Phoenix who didn’t stop battling and we wish them well for the rest of the season. 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ Our Juniors travelled across the river for an away fixture against Toros this morning. The sun was out and the pitch was in immaculate condition setting the scene for a good game of football.

Juniors came storming out of the blocks and quickly went ahead when Lucas P cross/shot went in through the keepers legs. The lead was doubled a minute later when Charlie A finished from a tight angle. More goals were added by Thomi S, another from Lucas P and Musa T taking the Juniors into half time with a comfortable cushion.

Albert F was looking solid in the sticks looking for consecutive clean sheets. Archie R, Romeo R and make shift CB for the day Charlie A looking solid at the back. Bodhi R, Chase B and Musa T were working the flanks well with Charlie S, Lucas P Finnley J and Flynn W rotating through the midfield with Thomi and Oscar deployed more forward.

The second half brought some more good football with the highlight coming from the Toros keeper who saved a penalty but was sharp enough to save the rebound and the follow up after that! 🧤

Further goals in the second half from Oscar J x 2, Finnley J as well Lucas P completing his hat trick and Thomi S getting his 3rd and 4th closed the game out.

Player of the match today went to Thomi who had the fire back in his belly and was clinical in front of goal. Well done Thomi 👏 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ Our Juniors hosted Toros Twisters this morning in the first meeting between the two sides.

The first half saw both teams adapt to the conditions and get a feel for each other. Lads Club assert their dominance early on, with multiple chances coming from Oscar J and Theo L, though the opening goal wouldn’t arrive until just before the halftime whistle. After solid defensive work from Archie R and Romeo R saw Lucas P go past a couple of defenders and square the ball for Charlie A to net the opener, sending Lads Club into the break with a 1-0 lead.

The second half saw the Juniors click into gear right from the off. Thomi S doubled the lead at the start of the half with Lucas P sliding in Thomi inside the first minute after the restart. Lucas P then struck from close range after a smart pass from Thomi returning the favour. The Lads weren’t done there - Thomi S once again turned provider, helping captain Charlie S add another.

The floodgates really opened when Chase B made an immediate impact, scoring in the 40th minute when he was well found by Lucas P before adding another, with a clever assist from Oscar Jones. To cap it all off, Oscar Jones made a brilliant finish from outside the box and round off the scoring for the day.

Solid defensive efforts from Romeo R, Archie R, with Albert F in the sticks keeping his first clean sheet in only his second game in goal. The whole team played some brilliant football in the second half which was great to see.

Player of the match was a joint affair. Romeo R who was solid at the back and showed his confidence in playing out from the back well and being brave in possession. Lucas P who was at his creative best providing multiple assists and grabbing a goal although did take a dubious tumble in the box that the ref rightly waved off. Well done boys 🔵⚪️

🔵⚪️ Our U11 Juniors hosted Ludlow Town Lions in a precursor to the Tony Cole Final to come in May at Edgar Street. The conditions made it difficult to get the ball down and play and both teams took a while to adapt. Defences were on top for much of the game with few chances to test either goalkeeper. Oscar J worked hard across the top with Finnley J and Thomi S battling in midfield. It definitely wasn’t one for the purists. Lucas P made a good save when the Ludlow striker went through one on one, and Chase B put one just wide at the death but the game finished all square at 0-0 to give both sides confidence going into the final at the end of the season.

Player of the match went to all the defence which consisted of Louis H, Lucas P, Archie R and Romeo R who looked solid all game. We wish Ludlow all the best for the rest of the season. 🔵⚪️
