Proud to use Farm Stay to promote our Farm Cottage in the Lake District
As you know, we're celebrating our 40th Anniversary this year and we are so proud!
So don't worry, we'll be shouting about it a lot next week!
We thought it would be fun to do a little comparison with how Farm Stay was 40 years ago and how it is in 2023...
In 1983, there were far more B&Bs than self-catering members, now our membership is spread pretty equally across both types of accommodation, plus glamping!
In 1983, the average price of a B&B room was £6, now we're looking at more like £100!
In 1983, we were the first not-for-profit organisation of our kind, encouraging people to the countryside to enjoy its many benefits, educate them on the origins of their food and promote farm diversifcation. Now, we number over 400 members, showing that our mission was ahead of its time!
