Hello, everyone – we’re James and Lou, and we are so excited to officially introduce ourselves as the new team behind The Bear & Blacksmith!

First off, a massive thank you for the incredible support we’ve received so far. From the warm welcomes to the kind words about the pub’s transformation, it has truly meant the world to us.

You may have noticed we’ve been a bit quiet on social media up until now. Here’s why: we wanted to take our time to build up our team and ensure we were ready to do this amazing pub justice before shouting about it! We started small with a soft launch (drinks, a couple of food nights, and a Sunday lunch), and while there were a few hiccups along the way – as is always the case with setting up something like this – we’ve loved every minute of getting everything ready and seeing the pub come to life again.

We’re still looking for staff (if you’re interested, give us a shout!), but with a growing team, we’re thrilled to be properly up and running now.

This pub is our heart and soul. We’ve poured so much love into making it feel like the warm, cosy, proper pub we know it can be, and it’s so rewarding to see it already being embraced by the community. But this is just the beginning – we’ve got lots of exciting ideas for the future! It’s very much a work in progress, but with your support, we’ll keep building something really special together.

A quick note: we didn’t inherit access to the old social media pages (long story!), so this is a fresh start for The Bear & Blacksmith.
