Six slow trail routes in Cumbria have been developed with parish councils, walking groups, and members of the community, as part of the Fellfoot Forward scheme. The differently accessible routes, which start and pass through villages, offer people the opportunity to take their time travelling in the landscape and learn about the area's heritage along the way.
Five existing high level walks have been updated and offer more challenging routes to some of the Cumbrian summits in the .
Each route has descriptions and interpretation, available in print at various outlets around the area, and also online: https://northpennines.org.uk/what_we_do/fellfoot-forward/slow-trails/
