🔥 INFORMATION REGARDING FUEL FOR THE LOG BURNER 🔥

WINTER
3 night stays... x1 bag of sticks, x2 nets of logs.
4 night stays... x1 bag of sticks, x2 nets of logs.
7 night stays... x1 bag of sticks, x3 nets of logs.

SUMMER
The same will be provided but the chances are you won't need to use it, as the house is warm through the day and night.
You can still light the fire if you wish but you won't need it for warmth.

Coal is unlimited but one bucket of coal will keep the log burner lit and warm overnight. On average you should use around 2 buckets a day.

If you need anything more than that, then you will need to purchase yourself.

The sticks and logs will be brought into the house for you, and the coal is in the coal bunker which is just outside of the front door.

Our log burner works the central heating, and works at its best with coal, the fire itself doesn't have to be roaring with flames from logs constantly to get the best use out of it.

We advise that you use a hand full of sticks, and 3/4 logs to get the fire going, once the temperature gauge is halfway, then put half a bucket of coal on, then around 20 minutes later put the following half on. This will give you sufficient heat and get the radiators going for a good amount of time. Throughout that time, to keep the fire going, if you poke it around with the utensils provided and add 1/2 logs and some more coal, this will keep it going.

Apologies but we remain closed until the issue over probate can be resolved- this may not be until Spring 2021 but we will update this page once we know

Update: The Bothy remains closed for the foreseeable future whilst Probate is being sorted - it certainly appears it will take longer than the hoped 6 months- we still hope to open up to all guests again one day and bring this little haven back for many to enjoy
