I’m late to the party posting this from Travel Counsellors 30th annual conference in Manchester last weekend.
From meeting suppliers and learning what’s new in travel to catching up with colleagues and listening to inspiring talks.
The cherry on top was bring treated to a performance by the amazingly talented Nile Rodger’s and his band Chic. Wow! 🤩
We even got to hear about his eclectic life as he was our special guest speaker.
Hosted by Vernon Kay , it was his 10th year with us and always entertains!

Delighted to be attending Travel Counsellors conference 2024. In Manchester for the weekend catching up with colleagues and suppliers. We listened to motivational speakers ; Mo Gawdat my personal favourite and the hugely inspirational Jo Malone. We were entertained by Abba Tribute band last night and the hilarious host, Vernon Kay headed our ApresSki themed night. Looking forward to our Gala Dinner shortly!

So many of you will know I was lucky enough to be in Switzerland last week, experiencing what a walking holiday involves.

You don't need to be an experienced hiker to go, as there are guided walks included that range from easy to challenging. You set the pace!

I did a site inspection of the 5 star Romantik hotel in Grindelwald.

It’s a family owned hotel (for 3 generations ) that prides itself on exceptional service. They are open year round.

There are 4 restaurants serving a variety of international plates.

They have a choice of hotel rooms or chalets that can be self-catered or fully catered.

A spa with indoor pool
Relaxation Room
Bio & Finnish Sauna
Steam / Aroma Room
Glacier Grotto Ice Bath

They even have a bowling alley!!

All within 2 mins walk from the train station. They also run free shuttle buses to the gondola.

A perfect stay! 🇨🇭

So today we took the bus from Grindelwald to Grosse Scheidegg and hiked 6km to the First. Water was a big element and added to the atmosphere as you can see from the photos. We then took the gondola down to the valley floor and walked the Glacier Gorge , a suspended walkway carved into the rock face above the raging river! Spectacular.

Early October can be a fantastic time to travel. You miss the crowds and the intense heat.

So on our last morning in Grindelwald we took the Gondola up the mountain for our last adventure, a ride on the Glider down the mountain, which was thrilling !! And a race back down to the village on trikes! So much fun. #grindelwald #grindelwald_eiger #jungfraujoch #walkingholiday #switzerland

Switzerland had stolen my heart ❤️ what a country! We took the Eiger Gondola from Grindelwald to Jungfraujoch; the highest railway in Europe. They built a tunnel through the mountains to the top so you are between the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains at 4185m.
