Combining a sensitive modern makeover with warm hospitality, The Merchant's House Hotel is perfectly situated in the city centre in the beautiful and ancient city of Salisbury. We think it’s a real slice of olde England with modern comforts and attentive service but don't just take our word for it, here is one customer's review.
"A Gem - Great old building but importantly, great people employed.
This hotel is less than 5 minutes very slow walk to the City Centre and Market Square. I was impressed from the moment I arrived. Emillie (hope that's the correct spelling) on the front desk, gave the most concise, yet helpful introduction to the hotel and it's amenities. There is a small car park at the rear, availability is not guaranteed, but wasn't and issue for our groups two estate cars.
The decor is as good as the website photos, fresh and warm. The air conditioned room was spotless and well appointed, with a very comfy bed. Being at the rear of the building, it was not affected by any noise from Milford Street.
The "all you can eat" style breakfast from fruit, yoghurt, cereals and on to the "Full English" with Chef coming out and checking everything was ok, was all a delight.
Every single member of staff was a credit to the hotel, friendly, helpful, and keen to ensure everything was good. They were not officious or overbearing, their natural helpful approach was appreciated.
Thank you to everyone at the Merchants House Hotel, you are head and shoulders above most of the hotels I have used all over the world. I loved every minute with you. Cheers!".
