The Ponte Rialto is one of the most famous bridges in Venice, Italy, and is considered an iconic landmark of the city. The bridge spans the Grand Canal and connects the districts of San Marco and San Polo districts. It was originally built as a pontoon bridge in the 12th century, but over time it proved to be unstable and was replaced with a wooden bridge in the late 16th century.

In the 16th century, a design competition was held to replace the ageing wooden bridge with a stone one, and architect Antonio da Ponte submitted the winning design. The bridge was completed in 1591 and has remained largely unchanged ever since, making it one of the oldest bridges in Venice.

Today, the Ponte Rialto is a popular spot to enjoy stunning views of the Grand Canal and the surrounding area from the bridge.
