ACCESSIBLE INTERNATIONAL DRIVE HOTEL IN ORLANDO

Description
This hotel comprises a total of 301 rooms spread over 21 floors and was renovated in 2000. Guests are welcomed with an air-conditioned reception area open 24-hours, a hotel safe and lifts. In addition there is a car rental service on site. Culinary options include a lounge bar and an inviting restaurant with highchairs for children available. Further facilities include a games room with a large choice of video games to choose from. Business guests may wish to make use of the modern and well-equipped business centre with various seminar facilities.

Guests may also make use of the laundry service as well as room service and hotel car parking spaces are also available.

Location
This hotel is located on the famous International Drive in Orlando. Numerous world-famous theme parks lie within easy reach of the hotel. Universal Studios and the Wet’n’Wild aqua park are both less than 800 m away from the hotel building.

LivingRoom – The living room has an open plan layout, and none carpeted to provide easy access for wheelchairs and equipment. All the sofas and chairs are reclining and there is a Large screen tv.
Ramped access to the pool area.
Kitchen/ breakfast room – The kitchen is accessible via the front door and is a spacious wheelchair friendly room with tiled floor. The kitchen is equipped with all stainless-steel appliances, a Vitamix blender for use for blended diets, large refrigerator/freezer, top oven, microwave oven and dishwasher.

Dining Area - The dining table is a large circular table, seating up to six, with space and mobility for wheelchairs.

Bedrooms
Adapted Master suite – The adapted master suite compromises of a Profiling hospital bed which is height adjustable. Overhead gantry hoist. (NOTE: to be returned to the right-hand side after use so that it can be re-charged). Manual pump mobile hoist (emergency use/preference). Carers bed if required. Large turning circle. Wall mounted TV for viewing from the hospital bed. Comfy chair - tilt in space and recline. Step-up step-down charger for charging UK electric wheelchairs. Wheelchair friendly flooring leads to a Wet Room/Bathroom.
Master 2 - Carpeted. king bedroom with en-suite bathroom and access to the pool area.

Bathrooms
Wet Room/ - The wetroom has level access. There are two sinks, one sink has been levelled for a wheelchair user and the other is at a standard height. There is a lie down shower bench (gurney USA) with an extendable shower hose, two commodes, one adult sized and one child sized. Grab rails.
King Bedroom En-suite bathroom - Full bathroom with bath/shower combo, single vanity sink and toilet.
Shared Family Bathroom - Full bathroom with bath/shower combo, single vanity sink and toilet.

Pool�The pool has a pool hoist with a changeable sling for use in the pool and spa. Guests can use their own fitted sling but must replace the general sling at the end of their stay. There are sun loungers and shaded lanai area.

Completed in 2005 and set on a corner lot this wheelchair accessible private vacation home has 3,061sq ft of fully air-conditioned living space and will accommodate 12 people with ease.

Adapted Features
All doors are accessible in the villa and wheelchair access is by ramps to the pool area from every door. There are the ramps leading into the living room, the master bedroom downstairs and the pool shower room/toilet from the pool deck to the house.
We also have a full electric profiling bed. This is a single bed and has full length bed rails.
Disabled equipment if required such as collapsible wheelchair, commode/shower chair, wheel walker with seat, portable hoist, shower seat, bath seat, pool hoist with interchangeable bed/chair, bed wedge, bed side guards.
We have a portable hoist that can be used in any of the downstairs rooms although the King master suite and bedroom 6 have ceramic floor tiles which make the portable hoist easier to use. You will need to bring your own sling for the portable hoist.

When I go travelling I tend to go to places that I’ve been before because I know that the location has disabled access.

I have been to Manchester Arndale shopping centre before.

The shopping centre is big and it is definitely wheelchair accessible; you can find some bargains in some of the shops.

If you fancy a shopping spree, go up north and visit Manchester Arndale shopping centre.

If you like Italian food - I’d suggest that you should go to Caffe Concerto - it’s near Westfield’s.

The food is fantastic, the pasta meals tastes good; the customer service is great. All the staff are helpful.

I would highly recommend that you should try Caffe Concerto .

Trinidad has always been an island of mystery for me as part of my heritage is Trinidadian.

It’s in the Caribbean Sea and it’s very close to Venezuela; the Caribbean island has got white sandy beaches that you could visit while soaking up the sunshine.

I’ve been there and on a clear day, you can see the Houses of Parliament , the staff are very helpful,

When I went there I ‘jumped the queue’ as I already brought my ticket.

The capsule on the London Eye, is big enough and sturdy enough to handle a powered wheelchair; the capsule moves slowly so that you don’t feel any movement.

Look at this wonderful park? Here is Central Park - I like how the bridge arches over the water.

I like going to places when there’s nice weather; but not too hot.

I have found some seasonal information that might be useful.

Summer - December through February
In summer, the average daily temperatures range from about 20°C to 37°C (68°F to 99°F) in the major capital cities.

Autumn - March through May
Things start to cool down slightly in autumn, with temperature averages slipping to between 17°C and 35°C (63°F and 95°F).

Winter - June through August
The winter months see average temperatures that range from 11°C (52°F) in the south to 30°C (86°F) in the north.

Have you ever been to Barbados?? Barbados is a tropical island in the Caribbean.

You don’t have to a visa; I’ve been to Barbados 3 times; it’s absolutely beautiful- natives are called Bajans.

When I went to Barbados; it wasn’t accessible for wheelchair users.

As tourism is vital to Barbados, the capital of Barbados- Bridgetown- is semi accessible; Barbados will eventually improve its infrastructure.
