November Operations Summary:

The situation in Israel requires special operational preparation, and we are working around the clock to meet the needs of our passengers while closely adhering to the guidelines of security forces and aviation officials.

We sincerely appreciate your trust, patience, and understanding. Your support is invaluable and allows us to continue connecting you to your home and loved ones.

As we do each month, we’re sharing a summary of our activities from the previous month. This time, we’re highlighting the figures for November, during which we transported approximately 490,000 passengers.

We are proud to be part of the groundbreaking Space Startups program, implemented in collaboration with the Ramon Foundation, which inspires school students to explore the world of space and entrepreneurship!

As part of this program, 5th and 6th grade students from all over Israel will be mentored by El Al pilots and gain practical tools for developing innovative ventures in the field of space.

At the first meeting of the program at Nigunim school in Sha’arei Tikva, in the presence of First Officer Yehuda Novogrotsky and Ramon Foundation Chairperson Yiftach Ramon, the students embarked on a fascinating journey.

This is the first step in a broader program designed to encourage innovative thinking and develop Israel’s future generation of space entrepreneurs, and we’re proud to be a part of it!

Shoham Partiel, who has served as an operation officer in EL AL for the last two years, has been juggling active reserve duty and work since the beginning of the war.

Due to the PTSD he experienced following his service during Guardian of the Walls Operation as well as the events of October 7th, he decided, together with nine other partners, to establish Chameleons First Response, an organization that provides critical equipment and professional psychological support to soldiers on active duty or in the reserves, and also works to commemorate the fallen.

To support their recent fundraising efforts, we flew Shoham and his partners to the USA so that they could be guests on Dr. Phil, the popular American talk show that deals with mental health issues. Dr. Phil, a clinical psychologist, heard about this important initiative, and decided to dedicate an entire episode of his show to it, which aired on October 7th this year.

We are proud of Shoham and his partners in this endeavor and will continue to support all our employees who are playing a role in the defense of Israel during this difficult period.

EL AL is expressing gratitude to Israel's brave soldiers by offering additional benefits. Active-duty and reserve soldiers will enjoy complimentary seat selection, generous baggage allowances, and flexible flight cancellation policies, including full refunds, until the end of June 2025.

Joining forces with actor and model Tal Morad, who served over 120 days as a reserve combat soldier since October 7th, and legendary Nahal Brigade commander Aharon Ben-Nun, EL AL pays tribute to the dedication of Israel's soldiers.

Building on previous initiatives, including providing 20,000 free flight tickets, thousands of discounted Hanan Ben Ari concert tickets, and priority booking and waiting list privileges, EL AL is taking another step to honor the service of our soldiers

We’ve had a complex and challenging year, in which we flew significantly more passengers than planned. As part of our strategic focus on service experience, we are proud to announce that for the fourth year in a row, we have earned the highest rating of five stars in APEX’s prestigious airline survey, in the customer experience category. This category covers various aspects of the flight experience, including seat comfort, food and beverages, entertainment systems, WiFi services, passenger service, and more.

APEX evaluates the in-flight service experience of approximately 600 of the world’s leading airlines. This year, they raised the ranking criteria and selected 40 airlines that represent less than 7% of airlines worldwide to receive five-star service ratings.

This award is shared by all EL AL employees, who make every effort to ensure our flights operate smoothly. We believe that the foundation of a good hospitality and service experience starts with constant attention to customers, a desire to improve, and investing resources and energy. Customers who purchased a ticket on or before October 1st, for a flight scheduled to depart on or before November 9th, 2024, may cancel their ticket without a cancellation fee and receive a voucher for future use on EL AL flights. Vouchers can be redeemed until December 31st, 2025.
Vouchers can be issued independently on the EL AL website.

It's like solving the world's most complex traffic jam, over and over again!
At EL AL, our Operations Department tackles the incredible challenge of coordinating crew logistics for more than a thousand flights each month.
How will we collect hundreds of pilots and many times more flights attendants from all over the country, on time, to the right place?

Our challenge is immense: unexpected traffic jams, roadworks, varying distances, choosing optimal pickup times, numerous intermediate stops... and that's just the beginning! After the flight, everyone needs to be dispersed back home. And that's just domestically, now let's do it in dozens of destinations worldwide! With an innovative algorithm that analyzes vast amounts of data, allowing us to optimize the entire logistics process.
The result? Thousands of crew members arrive on time, ready to take off, thanks to advanced technology and exceptional expertise.

Due to the security situation, we are updating our flexible cancellation policy for flights departing through October 31.

Customers who purchased a flight ticket by October 1, 2024, for a flight scheduled to depart through October 31, 2024, are allowed to cancel their flight ticket without cancellation fees and receive a voucher for future use on EL AL flights. Vouchers can be issued for all types of tickets sold by EL AL: LITE, CLASSIC, and FLEX. The vouchers can be redeemed until December 31, 2025.

Vouchers can be issued independently on the EL AL website.
