🔷Our team was out in Lye Green yesterday fitting temporary props prior to our wider range of work to be carried out to this large property.

are supplying the new curved water weathered Sussex sandstone, along with a number of replacement bricks.

We will be back to site in early January (weather permitting) to continue with the project

🔷A few recent photos of one of our completed projects over the last few weeks at this beautiful property in Harlow.

The team carried out a full repoint using a traditional coarse lime mortar with a flush finish, we also replaced a number of defective bricks with reclaimed matching stocks.

🔷Our work to the Officers Steps at The Royal Chatham Dockyard are now complete.

The team was tasked with carrying out investigation works to the top 2 treads, this involved the carful lifting of the granite steps and setting them aside. We then carried out our investigation works and repairs followed by the steps being refitted along with a complete repoint to the entire staircase. We also dismantled the badly cracked and bowed area of brickwork, rebuilt the wall and carried out a lime render repair.

🔷Our skilled restorers have recently complete the tuck pointing to this property in Eltham. After seeing our work at a property nearby the client wanted the same finish ti her property.

We carefully removed the existing cement pointing, replaced damaged bricks and carried out a full tuck point to the facade, using traditional materials and methods.

🔷The team began work yesterday at Chatham Historic Dockyard, carrying out work to the officers steps.

Our work involves lifting the top 2 rows of granite treads, investigation works and then relaying the steps. The removal of cement mortar and repointing the entire steps and partially rebuilding the brick wall where movement has occurred.

🔷Another one of our ongoing projects. The team have been carrying out the restoration to this listed barn in Essex.

The outbuilding has been fully converted inside and our team of skilled craftsmen have been restoring the exterior brickwork. We have remove the existing defective mortar, replaced the worst damaged bricks to still leave the character to the building. Finally a full repoint in lime mortar with a flush finish.

🔷We have been appointed to carry out the restoration and conservation to this stone arch at St Micheal and All Angels Church, Hartlip.

Our scope of work will involve removing sections of cement capping and renewing this with lime mortar. Localised grouting to stabilise the voussoirs and repointing at the springing point. We are looking forward to starting on this project over the next month.

M. Axell Stone Restoration Ltd was established in 2010 by Mark Axell. The company specialise in all aspects of stone and brickwork restoration, including both commercial and residential properties. This can comprise of stone & brick cleaning, stone indents, repairs, stone steps, repointing and conservation.

Being based in South East London, we cover all areas of Greater London, Kent and Surrey. We have worked on some exciting and interesting projects such as Arundel Castle, The College of Arms and several Churches and listed properties to name a few.

We are currently a team of 5 with a great team culture and we are looking to grow the team with enthusiastic and committed individuals.

The role does involve travelling, therefore it is essential that you have your own transport or have access to transport services. It is preferred that you have experience in stone and brickwork pointing, but this is not essential as training will be provided on-site. Being in possession of a Cscs card is also preferred but not required to start.

🔷Another one of our large ongoing restoration has now come to completion.

The team have been working at this property in Tottenham carrying out a large brick restoration. The work included a full rake out and repoint to the front and rear of the property, paint removal from the painted bricks around the door columns, over 150 brick replacements and repairs l, and also some stone repairs to the window cills and mullions which completes the transformation.

Our work consisted of a comprehensive clean ti the whole facade, replacement of damaged bricks, followed by a full repoint using lime mortar with a weather struck finish which certainly gives the property a new lease of life.

Our work consisted of a full removal of the existing pointing, we then carried out brick cleaning to the facade and carried out a number of isolated brick replacements. Finally the team carried out repointing using lime mortar finished with a weather struck finish.

🔷Our skilled team of masons have recently completed the repointing work to this exterior barn in Maidstone.

The team carried out a comprehensive removal of the defective mortar, ensuring all the dust and debris had been removed prior to repointing. We also carried out some isolated stone replacements to a number of areas on the 2 walls, finally carrying out traditional coarse lime pointing with a flush finish.

🔷Our skilled restorers have recently completed the patch repoint to this property in Brixton.

Using a mixture of traditional sands and natural pigments we was able to match the existing mortar perfectly.
