Where to escape this autumn and where you can still enjoy sun? I answered this question on my blog few years ago. Please visit for reference and countries I recommend (link in bio) but today I wanted to share my top 6 cities for autumn escape.
::
The benefits of holidays in Autumn are great; firstly after the season the places are much cheaper to travel to, secondly with less crowds you can do and see more and thirdly you still can enjoy warm weather with sun and nice warm temperatures. Plus some of places has uniquely autumn vibe as well.
::
So today I wanted to share my top cities in Europe for Autumn escape and sun:
šŸ‚ Barcelona
šŸ‚ Lisbon
šŸ‚ Rome
šŸ‚ Paris (autumnal)
šŸ‚ Krakow (autumnal)
::
And you, where do you recommend autumn escape?

Tired, pregnanat, needing toilet, trying to entertain baby and see a bit of this city! This is best photo description I can think of and what I felt that moment during our trip to Lyon which was fairly spontaneous, points sponsored weekend away in September last year.
::
As always I was happy to travel, and get away even for a weekend to a city I did not know much about - only that I had half price flight there šŸ¤Ŗ turned out itā€™s really great city to explore especially if youā€™re movie and cinema enthusiast - thanks to Lumiere brothers there are loads of film and cinema related places and activities to see and explore.
::
P.S. on stories Iā€™m pulling from the archives stories from that trip, plus adding extras I never published. Join me and let me know what you think?

Even though the season for lavender is over I still want to encourage you to add one of the fields to your bucket list.
::
If you have no idea how to spend a day or afternoon, a visit to lavender field may be perfect. Apart from great photo opportunity, you get to try all sorts of products made from lavender : from food to beauty!
::
I now look forward to another field opportunity of pumpkin patch! :) any recommendation near London welcome!

Itā€™s that time of the year when you can visit blossoming lavender fields and have your lavender field photo! Luckily no need to travel all the way to France, you can simply find lavender field close to your location as there are plenty of them in U.K., and around London.
::
My closest one is which is an hour drive from west London, or 40 mins train ride from central London. It has a cute cafe with all things lavender, a gift shop, and train ride around the fields.
::
Definitely a great day out!

Just a reminder that Chelsea Flower Show is about to end in London. If you are not ready to spend money on the (last and expensive) tickets or are not that into it so much, Iā€™m sure you would much rather stroll down Kings Road in Chelsea to admire some pretty amazing flower installations as part of Chelsea in Bloom event.
::
I think the business owners are outdoing themselves every year, and itā€™s for sure pleasing to the eye!
::
Last yearā€™s theme for Chelsea in Bloom was Royal, this year ā€˜Flowers on Filmā€™ so head down to Kings Road, grab a coffee to go and stroll down the street admiring some amazing flower displays.
::
Last year recap roll in my stories for reminder. Is that something you would want to do or see?

Ahhhh Mexico! I miss you!
::
After seeing stories from Mexico from my friends, and my inspo accounts, and recent chat with one of you on here I looked back at these photos and articles and I am so grateful for the journey there! I loved the food, exploring such an interesting Mayan history (although thereā€™s still so much more to see) and enjoying those sunny days on the beach. Canā€™t wait to take my little happy feet there!
::
On that note, I linked two of my Mexico related articles in my stories, if you need inspo, or travel help.
::
And tonight Iā€™m having nachos with home made salsa and guacamole (minus the margarita) just to transport me to these flavours a bit.
::
Do you transport yourself through food to places youā€™ve been to? Whatā€™s your favourite?

Totally in the mood for sun & sea! Thank you to those who voted for more of sunny photos from Dominican Republic. I think we can hold of with Christmas staff till December at least!
::
So letā€™s do some info sharing about DR! Did you know that:
šŸŒ“
The Dominican Republic is the second largest island in the Caribbean behind Cuba and ahead of Jamaica.
šŸŒ“
Christopher Columbus first discovered the Dominican Republic, by accident, in 1492 aboard his ship Santa Maria.
šŸŒ“
The Dominican Republic is the only place youā€™ll find precious stone like Larimar - itā€™s not found nowhere in the world.

The perks of travelling with baby is that youā€™re up at 5am and you can admire sun rising and these beautiful colours!
::
In my pre baby life you would not see me up earlier than 9 on holidays. So hereā€™s to benefits of travelling with baby šŸ„‚
::
Who knows maybe Iā€™ll run to the beach to see the sunrise?!

Whoā€™s team sunrise and whoā€™s team sunset, and who is a parent who can share another benefit of travelling with kids? šŸ™ƒ

A pumpkin patch experience. TBH if I didnā€™t have a child, I would probably not go to the patch. But I must say it was fun!
::
Located in London (well within M25 parameter) Pumpkin Party experience was fun for kids and adults alike. And the bonus is, they have amazing ice-cream for afters:)
::
Itā€™s still time before Halloween if you want to grab your pumpkin from there! I highly recommend.

Bonjour Lyon!
::
After a weekend in France Iā€™m back to ā€˜speakingā€™ French. And speaking is in inverted commas on purpose but every time I visit France the French ignorance towards English speakers makes me want to learn it fluently and be super sarcastic back (although sarcasm is not my thing!)
::
But I still find it funny and I come back to France for more delicious food, culture, arts and weather too.
::
Iā€™ve been thinking how many times I visited France and if Iā€™m correct itā€™ā€™s been 8 times so far which is my most visited country to date! What is yours? Do you have a country that you visited more than once?
::
Will be posting stories from Lyon later today so go check this city out!

Beautiful Mauritius beach, maybe not the prettiest one but for me that was enough! It was a small hotel beach, in a small hotel in the middle of nowhere I.e. fishing villages not tourist resorts around. But it was one of the hotels I think of very fondly. Why? Because the staff was lovely, caring and we all were very close.
::
In the evenings hubby would play football with waiters on the beach, now I know in some hotels that would be a big NO NO but they all were very young and just wanted to relax after work with nice guests they met. It was quite refreshing.
::
The hotel in itself wasnā€™t a 5* lux property, but rather cosy family feel place with many Tlc needs - but staff made up for it a hundred times
:
If you want to read more about this hotel Iā€™m writing a full review for my ā€˜Hotel Inspectorā€™ column on my blog.
::
Let me know if youā€™re interested in content like that and what do you pay attention to when choosing a hotel?

Cracow - youā€™re so pretty!
::
If thereā€™s one city in Poland Iā€™d recommend visiting, itā€™s Cracow. Itā€™s a city that has something for everyone; culture, architecture, history, great food scene, and attractions for kids. Everyone will find something for themselves.
::
And from what I heard from my recommendations, everyone had great time! For some more Cracow inspo visit stories to see if youā€™re ready for this city.

Have you been to Poland yet?

Itā€™s going to be a scorcher week and weekend. London will see temperatures above 35C so youā€™re either plan to be in the AC fuelled place, or out and about.
::
Thankfully London has few places where you can spend hot days and enjoy sun:
šŸ“all London parks (Hyde, Richmond, St Jamesā€™s)
šŸ“enjoy al fresco dining in many restaurants in the city - especially Covent Garden and Soho with its pedestrianised streets.
šŸ“take a trip to the outskirts of London and visit Ruslip Lido - thereā€™s a tiny beach there
šŸ“even better go to the seaside! It can be an hour train ride and youā€™re by the sea!
::
What other places are worth visiting in London during heat wave? Especially with kids!
::

Do you remember when in 2010 Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajƶkull erupted and literally no one could pronounce its name?
::
Now think if something serious happened in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch who would be able to pronounce that? šŸ¤Ŗ
::
On a serious note, we made it to this small Welsh town with a big Welsh name as I really wanted to take a photo with the sign of the longest name of the town in Europe! The name translates to: ā€œSt. Mary's Church in the hollow of white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio near the red cave." Now thatā€™s a tongue twister!
::
Apparently the railway sign is the best sign to take photo with full name of the place. Check other options in my stories today as I took every possible opportunity to take photos of the name.
::
Whatā€™s there to see you ask? Not much. This town attracts tourists just because of its name so youā€™ll see people arriving just to take a photo with the sign. However; when youā€™re driving to Anglesey (the island where this town is located) you will take a route via very impressive brick bridge.
::
Any places you wanted to see just because of sign / name / one attraction etc? Share in comments and letā€™s make a crazy list of places to see šŸ˜‰

Wales was great! Iā€™ve lived in U.K. for over 14 years and only now I made a trip to Wales!
::
I definitely want to go back as there is so much more to see;
::
šŸŒæbeauty of nature - E.g. Snowdonia national park with 2000m2 of area to explore,
::
šŸ° castles - Wales has the biggest numer of castles per area and its ranking as No 1 in the world, this photo is taken from the top of Caernarfon castle which is the biggest in Wales, on the UNESCO World Heritage list, and a place of coronation of future princes of wales - next William
::
šŸ‘ - Wales has 3 sheep per 1 human headcount - placing itself second in the world after NZ.
::
Whereā€™s the place you have been postponing to go but when you eventually went you were impressed??

Happy Motherā€™s Day to all my Polish (and French and few other European countries who celebrate in May) mums! I am day late but hey Iā€™m mum and have priorities!
::
Being a mom is an adventure in itself! Itā€™s tough, hard, full of tears - the happy tears and misery tears, one of a kind experience, something unique, something not for everyone too.
::
Itā€™s just another state of mind! šŸ¤Ŗ I absolutely love this adventure, even if scary and hard at times, and canā€™t wait for more life with you my lil baby girl.
::
Being a mom makes you realise how much effort our mums put in raising us when there was no disposable nappies, ready made meals, so much info about raising a childā€¦ so cheers to my mum too who had done hell of a good job .lesna1

Iā€™m defo team sun; however when Iā€™m on a trip even rainy day wonā€™t ruin my mood! Just like here rainy day, beautiful view, wet me but happy that I could take even the small local staycation :)

Are you looking for a bit of history and culture and not only beach and woodland walks?
::
You can find that in Cornwall too. After being very hesitant if this place deserves a visit, I finally made decision to see it. And I can tell you it was one of the best mansions / castle-like places I visited so far!
::
And if you ever wondered how it was to live in places like that - this house is perfect example as it was inhabited by a family till 1960s and has a lot of belongings and personal items that were used in the house. Really great place to visit on a rainy day too!
::
Sneak peak into the house on my stories (later will save in highlights)

Letter G is for Greece, in my - I have been twice to Greece - once in prehistoric times in Halkidiki (and no suitable photos to share šŸ¤Ŗ) and more recently in 2018 in Corfu! In all these years I forgot how I missed Greece and itā€™s cuisine, friendly, cool people and just Greek vibe! And The best iced coffee in the world - Caffee Frappe ā˜•ļø
::
I could not decide on photo I wanted to share because there is so many beautiful places in Greece, I feel that you can photograph any place and it will look pretty! This might country may as well be photographers heaven!

Corfu trip was girls trip and it was so adventurous, make sure you do it at least once with your girl friends (or boy friends) as this is totally different vibe of travel to family/couple/solo.

::
Iā€™ve been to šŸ‡«šŸ‡· 6 times already, but when I think of France I think of beautiful sunny slopes, cheesy tartiflet (Alpine speciality) fresh šŸ„ with ā˜•ļø and partying till early morning, then waking up early to catch fresh powder and be the first one on the slope!
::
OR browsing cheese stalls, sampling fresh French produce and wine, right next to amazing Parisian architecture.
::
With 2 visits to Paris, and 4 to the Alps, I could have ticked so many other places on the world map. But itā€™s not always about ticking another country off the list, instead fully visiting new region of the same country and exploring.
::
Do you travel again to countries you visited? If so which one, what makes them so special?

Next up is E - for Egypt šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡¬ In My This photo is old, the trip was back in 2012 and what I love about that time is that I was just exploring the country, learning the culture, and taking cheesy photos (like this one šŸ˜‰)
::
Travel has changed since Instagram entered our world, itā€™s more staged at some points (poses, dresses, places). I was sharing my travels back then on FB and was creating albums for each country I visited which are now nice memory. Maybe I should have jumped on IG bandwagon too but I was too focus on experiencing than learning new social platforms. Of course IG influenced my gram too - no doubt about it, but Iā€™m trying to stay true to my travel values.
::
Now, what I liked Egypt for and why I would recommend a trip to this country:
ā˜€ļøhot weather
šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡¬fantastic history and culture
šŸ the best coral reef Iā€™ve seen so far
šŸ§†great food
::
For more practical tips on Egypt, I invite you to check out my 2 blog posts which Iā€™ll link in stories.

Have social media platforms changed the way you travel?
