The Museum of the Home is one of London's interesting small museums. As the name implies, it traces the story of domestic life from 1630s to imagining the future. From 19th November, the rooms will be decorated for the season in the way they would have been for each period. The museum is free and directly opposite Hoxton Overground station.

Winter Past 2024 - Winter Past reveals how winter has changed London homes through the last 400 years, from festive decor and food to the ways people kept warm, entertained themselves, and gathered with loved ones.

"In the Eye of the Storm - Modernism in Ukraine 1900-1930s" at the Royal Academy is a timely exhibition exploring the visual experiments through which artists sought to renew Ukraine's culture and autonomy in the early c20th. Well worth seeing.

Whilst at the Royal Academy don't forget to see Leighton's Flaming June!

Marvel at the groundbreaking modernist art made in Ukraine between 1900 and the 1930s.

I really enjoyed the Marc Quinn exhibition at Kew Gardens with 17 sculptures dotted around the gardens plus an indoor exhibition. Quinn has always been one of the more interesting conceptual artists, managing to combine being thought provoking with visually interesting and appealing works. On until 29th September.

I went to an inspiring visit to the Acosta Dance Centre in Woolwich yesterday, courtesy of the London Ballet Circle. Having seen a passionate rehearsal of Carmen, I can't wait to see the full production at Sadler's Wells in July. Tickets are selling fast.

The Centre also does wonderful work with the local community and schools offering dance classes in a variety of styles. They are raising money through the Big Give at the moment so every donation is doubled.
