Meet Sofie Rattsø, an electrician apprentice on MS Trollfjord, navigating a traditionally male-dominated field with skill and determination 💪🏼

"I wanted an education where I could work more practically rather than theoretically — now I work in a field where no days are the same. I’m constantly learning, and I have fantastic colleagues around me." – Sofie, 21

Of course, there are challenges:

"Some tasks are physically demanding, but we help each other and find solutions. The biggest challenge is finding workwear that actually fits women, that's still a problem in this industry."

Sofie is one of many women making waves at Hurtigruten — the number of women in our company has grown from 36% in 2023 to 42% in 2024.
