Sam Harding - Horticultural Career
Sam has had a whole life of involvement in horticulture. From the age of 3 he was always in the garden with his grandma who taught him alot of the basics in his early years. He would even go to work with her on private gardening jobs at the age of 5! Sam spent his early teens working part time maintaining gardens, right through his studies until he would find fu
ll time work. Sam studied horticulture at Writtle College where he really found his passion for learning and understanding the science behind plants. His efforts were rewarded with Distinction* on his first year, along with receiving the award for 'Most outstanding student on the course'. Sam went on to Level 3 and achieved Merit for his first year. After the first year of level 3, having found work through his compulsary work experience, decided to leave college with the Subsidary diploma rather than Extended as he felt he had gained everything he could out of college. Sam worked for Transsacpe maintaining gardens and estates and also commercial contracts for apartments in central london. Also he was involved in the landscaping work they carried out. After relocating Sam started working for Evergreens Family Garden Centre where his plants knowledge has greatly expanded. As well as duties around the garden centre, he has carried out alot of lanscaping work for customers. After all the knowledge and experienced he has gained over the last few years Sam felt it was time to start working for himself and has set up 'Harding's Garden Services'.
