Exactly this.

This is the reason why we are choosing to temporarily close our holiday let. Despite it being part of our property unaffecting local housing stock we still have this onerous form to fill in. Plus on top of all that paperwork having to get security clearance from Australia (where we lived for several years) to be then checked by the British Embassy.

We have catered primarily to contractors working within the local area as well as tourists. The property has proven to be very popular especially for contractors working at the nearby airbase.

You may find your future trip to Scotland become a lot more expensive due to other holiday let owners choosing not to continue with the ill thought out legislation designed by the Government and others putting their prices up.

We will remain hopeful for an 11th hour decision to amend this mess for Scottish tourism.

Scotland's short-term let licensing is a bureaucratic nightmare - a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

The Keith & Dufftown Railway Association keeps alive an eleven-mile line linking the World’s Malt Whisky Capital, Dufftown, with the historic town of Keith. It allows you to experience the true spirit of this unique part of Scotland.
