Have you ever seen the Northern Lights?
⭐️⭐️ Aurora spotting tips ⭐️⭐️

⭐️ Follow Aurora Watch UK and Northern Nights Moray on Facebook, or install one of the free Aurora apps on your phone.

⭐️ Check the weather, clear skies are a must.

⭐️ Choose a dark spot with a clear view to the North and no light pollution. West Beach car park is a favourite locally.

⭐️ Look to the horizon and let your eyes adjust.

⭐️ Depending on the strength of the aurora, you might be able to detect anything from a faint, pale glow to flickers of green, or if you're very lucky, sweeping curtains of green, purple or even red.

⭐️ To enhance the colours, you need to set your phone or camera to a long exposure and keep it very still with a tripod, or by resting it in a rock.

⭐️ Ask for help and tips from others nearby. Aurora spotters are an enthusiastic bunch, keen to share their love of the merry dancers!
