We have a resident hedgehog!! First seen last weekend by the latest Owl Nest visitors, and now caught on our trailcam just 2 nights later 😁 we are so pleased - who knows what will be seen next! 🦔🐾🐁see the tiny mouse too!

1 Owlet is exploring! At 32 days old this stage is called branching. The young stay near the nest and the parents continue to feed them. The young can climb before they can fly, so if you find a bundle of fluff on the ground, please don't 'save' it, it is fine. Like a baby dear hiding in the grass, the parents know where they are. 🥰🦉🐥🦉

A quick, and very special, glimpse of the male tawny bringing food to the female as she sits on 2 eggs. The box is recessed into the Owl Nest cabin, hence we are keeping things quiet around there for a while. 🥰🦉

We're delighted to see that a tawny has laid an egg in the nest box!!!! We may have to keep things quiet for a few weeks, don't want to disturb them and cause them to leave 🦉🦉🤗

We love to eat out and highly recommend Asquiths Restaurant in Lostwithiel barely 1 mile from The Owl Nest. I tried to take photos but the main course of venison was so good I completely forgot, nearly the same with the desert of rice pudding too!!! The pretty starter was trout. Book in advance, its worth it!

No more portaloo and camping solar shower for our guests, they now have much nicer facilities!

The new shower and wash room are really taking shape now with everything coming together beautifully. Thank you Mike Worne for working (and sweating) so hard doing this all by yourself!! All on track to be ready for the weekend's visitors!! Lucky folk!!

We have set a camera up to watch our barn owls as we hope they will nest, it looks like the blue tit is interested too! You too will be able to watch these beautiful birds live on the screen in The Owl Nest cabin during your stay!
