Walking above the Kidron valley on the Sabbeth.
Last year I gave a talk I'd prepared called 'What Jesus Saw'. I love the Bible. I hope you enjoy it.
This brief video is from my first visit to the Western Wall. What. A. Place. To. Pray. Like nothing you have ever experienced.
You can actually watch (usually) the Western wall live if you go here: https://thekotel.org/en/connect-remotely-to-the-western-wall/
The cameras are sometimes turned away from the worshippers but it's worth checking in now and then if you are curious.
These are the steps (many original stones) to the Second Temple Southern entrance. Jesus and His disciples walked up and down here (although it would not have been the only entrance they used.) There's so much history here in The David Archeological Park - you'll get a much fuller version on the tour. I filmed this on my first visit to Israel and I was musing over things so this isn't strictly a tour video - but I still wanted to share it. I have a photo (not available on the internet) of what is inside the triple gate - it's so exciting to realise that the passageways used by the priests (probably) are still there. Enjoy.
A little friend I met on Jaffa Street. The street cats are very bold. The first place I stayed had two cats - a brother and a sister - who would come into the outside eating and smoking area and just beg for food.
This little guy was on the street. I didn't have much food with me but he was too cute not to share at least something with...
The Sea of Galilee (known in the time of Jesus as Lake Tioberius) - honestly, one of my favourite places ever to visit. The disciples Peter, James and John fished here and the Lord Jesus walked on these waters. Truly, a humbling experience to stand here.
This is the kind of place I want to take you: the actual street along the Western wall where Jesus and His disciples used to walk. It's not hard to imagine Him stopping at these shops (that sat under giant steps) and buying local food.
