When it comes to street self-defence, having a variety of effective techniques at your disposal is essential. One such technique that can be devastatingly effective in close-quarters combat is the use of brutal elbows.
Elbows are considered one of the most powerful and versatile weapons in hand-to-hand combat. They offer several advantages that make them particularly effective in street self-defence scenarios. Firstly, elbows can generate a tremendous amount of force, capable of inflicting serious damage on an attacker. Unlike punches, which can risk injuring the hand or wrist, elbows provide a sturdy impact surface that can be delivered with greater force and accuracy.
Secondly, elbow strikes allow for close-range combat, which is often where altercations in real-life self-defence situations occur. By utilizing elbows, you can effectively neutralize an attacker in tight spaces, where punches or kicks may be difficult to execute.
The spinning elbow strike is a more advanced technique that utilizes rotational power to generate maximum impact. Here's how to execute it:
1️⃣ Assume a defensive stance, keeping your hands up to protect your face and body.
2️⃣ Step forward with your lead foot, rotating your body in the direction opposite to your lead foot.
3️⃣ As you rotate, bring your rear elbow across your body, generating momentum and power.
4️⃣ Unleash the spinning elbow strike by driving your rear elbow forward towards your target, aiming for the jaw, temple, or nose.
5️⃣ Maintain balance and control throughout the strike, pivoting on the ball of your lead foot.
After striking, regain your defensive position and assess the situation to determine further action.
