Madeira 2024 - my first official girls trip 🫶

It’s been hard to find the words to describe what this trip meant to me. As someone who felt out of place, had few people who wanted to travel the amount I did, was petrified of travelling solo, had several panic attacks on a solo flight to New York 6 years ago, suffered from anxiety for years and became a shell of herself, I know how hard it is to do things alone.

When I went on my first solo trip in 2022, I was petrified, but it became the best thing I’d ever do for myself. I made friends with women from all over the world and my confidence grew. It was like a chain reaction. I got fit again, started trying new things, I quit a job I’d worked for 11 years that was making me miserable and I started up a women’s hiking group. Best of all, my anxiety disappeared and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
My only regret was that I didn’t do all of this sooner.

I’d been talking about running my own solo trips with friends for a while. I already plan trips for my friends, but I wanted to offer something a bit different to what is out there now by fully planning the entire trip and leaving no down time, because that’s what made me put off joining a trip for so long myself.
I wanted to create a space to make new friends, have someone to eat with every night, a room mate to get ready with, to not have to worry about safety, planning tours or being alone. I wanted to appeal to the anxious girl I once was, and have somebody there to hold my hand if I needed it.

And that’s what I did. I set up a flyer, a reel and a page, and within a week of launching, I had 7 amazing women booked on and ready to go on a land and sea adventure with me to Madeira ⛰️🌊🧜‍♀️

Hi, I’m Stacey. I’m a travel addict with a love of the outdoors. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to travel, see new places and organise holidays. I’ve wanted to start offering organised trips for a while now.

📣📣📣I’m planning my first ‘official’ trip to MADEIRA 📣📣📣

I was originally too scared to travel ‘alone’ and booked on to an organised trip to Mexico with 13 women I’d never met. I was petrified but did it anyway.

We were all solo travellers, within an hour we felt like we’d known eachother forever and after a week we left as life long friends. I’ve since been on multiple group trips with the friends I met and made many more friends along the way.

Sometimes your friends don’t want to/can’t do the things you want to do/try, or you want to do something for you without the kids but have no idea what to do or who to go with. When you join a trip like this, you meet other women in the exact same situation and suddenly you have people to try things with.
