Needle & Dread : Dreadlocks and Body Modifications

Needle & Dread : Dreadlocks and Body Modifications Starting new dreadlocks and doing maintenance since 05! Not currently doing body piercing or handpoke tattoos but watch this space Hi there.

I have been working with dreads and alternative hair for over 9 years and have developed my own technique using crochet hooks and felting needles - NO WAX, LATEX, GLUE or any other quick-fixes that make your hair temporarily neat but cause long term damage to the development and maturation of your dreads. As long as it's at least 3 inches long I can make dreadlocks on almost any hair type. I can m

ake dreadlocks from scratch, extend new or existing dreads with either natural or synthetic hair, fatten thin or damaged locks, and repair and maintain dreadlocks. I can also do braids with or without extensions or Synthetic temporary dreadlocks that can last up 7 weeks. I'm based in Manchester but have no problem with travelling to any other part of the UK providing that my travel fair is covered, I aim to create a comfortable relaxed atmosphere whilst working on hair. As of 2014 I now also do piercings at in2skin, Oldham street, Manchester. So pop in for a consultation and/or a piercing :)

I’ve been experimenting with more environmentally friendly sealing mediums.
This is my first experiment with The CrystaLac Company Britetone finish, it takes a long time to build the layers up, but I’m loving the results so far.
In other exciting news I’m going to be launching my own online store this week, where this one (made with Ambleside Ferns and Rowan leaves) and a couple of other boards I’m working on will be available for sale 🌿

I’ve been opening up on a limited basis over the past few weeks, and hope to continue doing so. However, after a few too many anecdotal incidents, I want to make it clear that I won’t compromise the safety of my clients and I have zero tolerance towards COVID conspiracy theories (or any other red flags) which show a lack of respect or understanding of the risk.

There is a lot still unknown about this virus, but we do know that it’s here, all around us, and it’s dangerous when our community chooses not to protect itself. We need to take care of ourselves 💛

Hey folks.
I know some of you are super impatient to get your dreads sorted but I can’t in good conscience open just yet.
I’ll feel alright to resume business once testing is accessible for everyone and there is a reliable track and trace system in place, this may be before but is likely to be after hairdressers are allowed to open in July.
Both science and nature are telling us we have to be patient right now. Look after you and yours and make good choices 🌻

It’s come to my attention that there are still Locticians and hairdressers working throughout this.
Just want my customers to know that I love you. And because of that I will not risk your health or mine, but it’s not just about that above all it’s about our loved ones, and by making smart choices we can do our best to keep the most amount of people safe.
There a lot of misinformation about at the moment but I beg you all, be safe. Look after each other and I’ll see you when this all blows over 💛

Hope all you folks are staying healthy ✌️
Things are carrying on as normal at Needle & Dread HQ but I do ask that customers with any symptoms whatsoever (inc regular cold and flu symptoms) stay home and rebook, and that customers travelling by public transport give your hands and phone a wash when you get here.
Your deposit won’t be effected if you do choose to rebook.
Also don’t be alarmed if you hear me coughing, I’m an asthmatic smoker 🤷‍♀️

Take care of yourselves and each other 🌼
