One of the best things about working in a event furniture hire company is meeting and talking to a wonderful variety of customers. We of course are grateful to all our customers, but it's especially nice when they return to us time and time again to hire our furniture pieces for their events.
Jenny Loyd, of Inspired Event Management , is a regular hirer with Rio Lounge. Jenny has had a long and varied career in high end hospitality and events, (including time working for Buckingham Palace). We were delighted therefore, that she agreed to take time out of her schedule to participate in this mini interview. We hope you enjoy reading it! When most people hear '2020' or 'pandemic', they tend to think back to hard times when businesses were shutting down and pretty much everyone was either a 'key worker' or furloughed, not really knowing what the future had in store. However, one of our customers, Chloe Miles aka Just Peachy Events turned the lockdown 'rule of six' into an ingenious business ! Starting with balloon garlands for small outdoor gatherings in 2020, Chloe has since built her events business into something really special, attracting some high profile customers along the way. Rio Lounge Furniture Hire – Crew wanted!

Rio Lounge (based in Markyate, Hertfordshire) is looking for enthusiastic crew members to work for us during our 2022 events season.

As a Rio Lounge crew member, you will be delivering and installing our event furniture at a range of exciting events including festivals, film premieres, private parties, weddings, concerts and more.

The job is varied and involves a mixture of driving to venues across the UK, plus warehouse work, preparing furniture for events.

No experience is necessary, but it is essential that candidates:
• Hold a full, clean driving licence;
• Are able to work well as part of a small team;
• Show a proactive, ‘can do’ attitude;
• Are able to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers;
• Are willing to make early starts where necessary;
• Are able to work long shifts where necessary. (Typical working day 8-12 hours: appropriate breaks will be given);
• Are available to work 6 days a week
Rates of pay start from £12 per hour and are negotiable upwards depending on experience.

(Higher rates are payable if you are self-employed)
The role is a temporary contract, starting in April and running through to October 2022.
