Our aim is for Derwent House to offer a ‘home from home’ experience where a large group of people can come to escape, relax and unwind in luxury surroundings. To provide this, the house is well equipped and has good facilities for large groups so that guests enjoy the time they spend here.

We had a substantial refurbishment this year and have been welcoming guests back since July. It is lovely to read how much they have enjoyed their stay in and all the has to offer.

Each year we have lots of enquiries for Christmas that we can’t accommodate. Perhaps not the day itself but Derwent House is decorated for the festive season throughout December and could be a great space for an early Christmas celebration. And for the weekend of 6th and 13th December we are offering each weekend for £1250. 6 bedrooms, 4 shower rooms, the main bathroom, large kitchen and a dining room with seating for 12 people.

Good progress has been made with the decorating. Now time for new lights, curtains and other fittings. Not long before the refurbishment of the sitting room will be complete. Looking forward to the new look.

It was a lovely bright crisp day in Matlock so ideal to get start to get the courtyard ready for spring. Spent a few hours power-washing. It's a slow job but always satisfying to see the results. Ready for a final wash now before some new planting for spring.

The 2019 RHS - Royal Horticultural Society Chatsworth House flower show is just a few weeks away. If you are visiting in a group we have late availability at Derwent House for up to 12 people. The house has six bedrooms, offers an excellent standard and is approximately 10-15 minutes from Chatsworth. We have availability from Monday-Friday; Friday-Monday or Monday to Monday. Our latest review posted on TripAdvisor from our recent guests: Great house "We had an excellent house party for 5 couples this weekend. It is very comfortable and well equipped. Plenty of room but still intimate. Warm and good showers. There is lots to do in the area and plenty of take always for Sunday night when we had exhausted our cooking passions."

The Chatsworth House RHS - Royal Horticultural Society flower show is on form the 5-9th June next year. If you are visiting as a group we have availabiltiy at Derwent House.

We have been providing holiday accommodation for groups since 2008 and it as important today as it was at the start that we do all we can to help guests feel welcome and ensure they have a wonderful stay.

Located in the heart of Matlock Derwent House is close to all the local amenities. From the antique and vintage shops on Dale Road, to cafes, bars and a range of restaurants. Matlock is located on the edge of the Peak District National park, which makes this a fantastic location for exploring all the area has to offer. We are also lucky to have excellent transport links, with a rail station just a few minutes walk away and great bus services.

Many of our guests visit us for a special occasion and we know how important it is to have somewhere to stay that is right for this. From matching glasses, cutlery and crockery to one table seating all guests, to having space for all. Derwent House offers all of this and more. We work hard throughout the year to keep an excellent standard so our guests can come away and enjoy their time together and exploring the wonderful landscape and sights of Derbyshire and the Peak District National park.
