On this day in 2013: Construction work was completed on the much-loved Kelpies in The Helix Park, Falkirk. Standing over 98ft high, the gigantic steel sculptures are must-see attractions.

A sculpture in Ayr to acknowledge the Scottish witch trials - looking over R Ayr.

You may have noticed a beautiful new sculpture outside of the Cutty Sark Centre… meet Jonet!

This wire sculpture by local artist Vanessa Lawrence has been installed in remembrance of those accused of witchcraft in South Ayrshire during the Scottish Witch Trials.

It depicts a woman looking across the River Ayr towards the Auld Brig – which would have been a familiar sight to a local woman during the era of the Scottish Witch Trials.

Make sure to come along and see it for yourself outside the Cutty Sark Centre on Ayr High Street – more information coming soon!

Scottish Word Of The Week is guising!

Many of you will be taking your children out guising this Hallowe'en, which is essentially dressing up and going trick or treating.

The word guising comes from the word disguising. Similar to trick or treating, you dress up and knock on your neighbours' doors, offering them a joke, a song or another party trick in exchange for sweeties.
