RKA What does RKA offer?:

* STREET DANCE CLASSES

Street dance is a very popular class. It helps build confidence, social skills , and respect.

We offer Street Dance, Musical Theatre & Drama workshops across Greater Manchester along with tailor made "Street Dance Experiences" for your Hen Nights and Special Occasions I teach from ages as young as 3years old up to any age of anyone willing to give it a go. Street dance is a brilliant and enjoyable way for children and young people and adults to keep fit. I aim to have classes for each age

group ie 3-7. 8-12. 13-18 and if there is demand 18+

*SCHOOL WORKSHOPS and YOUTH GROUPS
I go into schools doing workshops of drama, or street dance. These can be during lesson time (ie if history class are working on a theme or individual person then we could do drama around it to help educate the children creatively). These can be offered lunch times , as an extra curriculum for the children. Or I do after school sessions, which are very popular.

-Drama,
I like to find out from the school what their themes are that term, or any particular issues they want addressing and plan my workshop around that. If booked for a set time (ie 6 weeks / 12 weeks) I offer the option of a performance at the end for the parents to come in and watch. This is something the kids can look forward and work towards, it is also a way of the parents witnessing something they may never see their kid do.. Drama workshop is brilliant way to stimulate kids to learn and think without them realising that they are doing it. It also encourages expressing their emotions and thoughts through techniques learnt, and assists in developing confidence with public speaking and socialising.

-Street dance,
A very popular way for kids to be introduced to a new physically active hobby. Its a brilliant fun way for the young people to exercise. It is hugely popular for kids who just need something fun to do with their friends, and an activity that channels their energy and encourages focus. The children would learn a short routine (if its a one off taster session) or a routine to a mix up track if its over a period of time. Again if its over a period of time I offer a performance for the parents to come and watch after.

*2-5 YEAR OLD CLASSES
(drama, singing, dance and movement)

I work very hard and LOVE working with this age group. I believe that if you help build their confidence in social skills and expression at an early stage it benifits them greatly when they grow older and start doing any activities. Using music, singing ,and dancing to encourage learning through play. It focuses on their physical development, their social development, their communicational development and prepares these children for going into unfamiliar settings such as nursery, school etc. I do try and do little performances for parents and family to watch throughout the year.

*ADULT FITNESS CLASSES aged 15+
Fitness through music. A fun way to keep fit, loose weight and have fun in the process. To try something new and meet new people in your area, and have a laugh. Its very informal and relaxed. Enables you to do as much as you want, without feeling pressured but with encouragement to motivate you.

*BIRTHDAY PARTIES
I get hired as entertainer/dance teacher.

-Entertainer - I go to function parties and though the use of party games, karaoke, and dancing the kids have fun and entertained whilst the parents can relax and enjoy the evening.

-Dance Teacher- If you wish to theme your party, ie a 'street dance party' or 'disney party' I can make a dance routine that I would teach the children .. and they will show it to their parents at the end. it takes up a small section of the party and whichever kid wants to take part can. It proved very popular for 'street dance'.

Firstly id like to say how much im REALLY REALLY missing teaching street dance to you all...i sit and watch pur videos all the time :)
And now i come to you now in need of your help...

Myself and 9 other team members have decided to step out of our comfort zones and jump out of a plane to raise money for charity....Manchester Children's Hospital!!!

I have a target personal cash figure to raise to be allowed to jump and as a team we have a target figure

We are looking for people to sponsor us by June 8th.

Im absolulty petrified to do this but i know the commitment and hard work the staff do at this hospital and how much more they could do with the money raised.

Its with great sadness that I announce the closure of Identity Street Dance. We have been dancing together a long while now but new opportunities have come around and it was a hard decision to make. A HUGE thank you to all the dancers past and present who have attended. Each dancer has put a huge smile on my face more than one occassion.
Best of luck for the future kids. Keep dancing.
