Very sorry to hear of Robbie Coltrane's passing.

Born Anthony Robert McMillan, in Rutherglen, he took his stage name in tribute to one of his heroes, American Jazz saxophonist John Coltrane.

I was once nearly arrested for riding down West George Street while standing on the runningboard of one of his vintage cars (drink had been taken!).

When the motorcycle cop who pulled us over saw who was driving, he said: 'Christ, I might have known...'

Final day today and after leaving Oban this morning we headed back to Edinburgh via Loch Lomond.

A great week all in all with the Crotty party - we hope you enjoyed your first visit to Scotland and will come back one day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

More of a leisurely day yesterday as we left Skye and made our way to Oban via Fort William

Oban is still bustling for the time of year and has plenty on offer for our guests.

This morning a tour at Oban distillery followed by a boat trip

Day three and not many pictures as again the weather wasn’t great!

But we visited Duntulm Castle, Dunvegan Castle, Neist Point Lighthouse and the Old Man of Storr.

Onwards to Oban today for our final days!

Day two and we left Inverness and headed to Loch Ness for a Jacobite cruise before reaching Kyle of Lochalsh and the Isle of Skye

The weather hasn’t been on our side since arriving on Skye, hoping for some sun in the coming days as we explore the rest of the island and move towards Oban

Yesterday seen our first day with the Crotty party from Ohio in the US.

En route to the Highlands from Edinburgh, the group enjoyed an hour watching sheepdog demonstrations at Kingussie
