I am looking for some photographs of 141R568 and the Swiss Classic Train on either the 24 June or 28 October this year. Preferably photos showing the whole train! The magnificent steam locomotive 141R568 runs again on the main line on 28 October. Its route is Vallorbe, leaving at 08:48, Lausanne probably via Lausanne Traige "buckle", stopping to pick up at Lausanne 09:54 - 10:28. Then the climb to Palezieux, and on to Payerne and Lyss. At Lyss 141R568 is joined by 01202 for a double headed run to Bern. Return is via Romont arriving Lausanne 18:01 leaving at 18:18 and arriving back at Vallorbe at 19:00. Rolling stock is the superb Swiss Classic Train with full catering on board and of course a bar with draft Swiss beers. Enquiries to www.141r568.com.

141R568 returns to the main line for a second trip this year! On Saturday 28 October, with the Swiss Classic Train carriages, it will run from Vallorbe departing 08:48 to Lausanne picking up at 09:54 / 10:28 then climbing to Palezieux on to Payerne then to Lyss. At Lyss it will be joined by 01 202 and double head to Bern returning to Vallorbe via Romont and Lausanne. Arrival Vallorbe 19:00. On the outward journey and probably the return the train will traverse the Lausanne Traige "buckle". For booking see www.141r568.com.

Plans for 141R568's triumphant return to the mainline are well advanced. The date is Saturday 24 June 2017. The route is Vallorbe to Lausanne to Palezieux taking in the long climb out of Lausanne, on to Fribourg and returning via Payerne, Moudon and back ot Lausanne. The second big climb is on the final leg from Daillens to Vallorbe. First Class, Comfort Class and Second Class seats will be available in the magnificent Swiss Classic Train carriages, with full at seat dining in First Class and Comfort Class as well as draft beer in the Bar Car! Watch out for announcements regarding booking details when the revamped 141R568 website opens soon!

The magnificent 141R568 will be taking a railtour from Vallorbe to Lausanne then on to Fribourg, Bern and Biel / Bienne in June 2017. More information to follow in Facebook as well as the revamped 141R568 website due to be relaunched soon. Meanwhile on the video is 141R568 on its test run 22 October 2016 returning up the gradient to Vallorbe.

141R568 made a triumphant return to the mainline on 22 October running from Vallorbe to Lausanne and back with its PTT car and Travys three car set and locomotive. Travys locomotive was there for insurance and certainly wasn't needed. Not my photographs and I will post acknowledgements when I get the names. A superb team effort from the team at Vallorbe, resulting in it being in absolutely magnificent condition. A passenger carrying charter is being planned for next year. Watch this space!!

On Friday last week (4 December) ZRT travel company ran a train from Winterthur to Konstanz (Bodensee) behind Be 4/4 Number BT14. It used the Mittropa dining car and one of the Swiss Classic Train First Class carriages. These photos show it at Winterthur about to depart and at Steckborn. Great event ZRT!

The railway model maker Fleischmann now sell models of the Swiss Classic Train in HO scale. The two carriage set includes the Pullman and the First Class carriages (Fleischmann Ref. 513601).

Today the Swiss Classic Train travels from its base near Basel to Rosenheim in Upper Bavaria on the Friedenszug ("Peace Train"). The photos show it behind Re4/4 1 Nr. 10034 at Sissach then, at the Rangierbahnhof Limmattal and finally behind 01 150 at Singen where is is shown preparing to take the train on to Rosenheim. In December the Swiss Classic Train also goes to Montreux and Fondation Pierre Gianadda, Martigny. This is 12 / 13 December. Go to the Swiss Classic Train website www.swissclassictrain.ch for more details in the downloadable brochure. The train starts in St Gallen, with stops including Winterthur and Zurich. In December the Swiss Classic Train goes to Innsbruck and Munich to visit he Christmas Markets - a festive Nostalgischer Christkindlzug! The historic Austrian Crocodile will take the train through Austria over the Arlberg and up to Garmisch. The three steam locomotives that took us from Huttwill to Sumiswald had come down from the OeBB, topping and tailing this lovely little consist including the Swiss Classic Train Composite Carriage.
