Mauritius

Tamzin Watson, a Travel Consultant at our Newcastle Branch, recently went on a 7-day trip of a lifetime to Mauritius, courtesy of Mercury Holidays. 🌅 The journey began with an 8am train from Newcastle to Kings Cross, then a Thameslink from St Pancras to Gatwick airport where Tamzin met up with the other agents to board the direct Air Mauritius flight to the island. Upon arrival, the group checked into the Jalsa Beach Resort and Spa, which offered a private beach, spacious rooms with gorgeous views, and a variety of activities including kayaking and snorkelling. Then during the afternoon, the agents visited both the Veranda Palmar Beach Hotel and the Laguna Beach Hotel & Spa, which boasted stunning views and plenty of amenities. As day 3 arrived, the group checked out of their first hotel and headed to the adults-only Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette Resort & Spa. This hotel offers a range of themed buffets including Indian, Moroccan, and Mauritian food as well as a snorkelling trail with 23 stations to see a range of sea life. On day 4 of the trip, Tamzin and the other agents were able to go dolphin sightseeing in a glass bottom boat, which was an unforgettable experience for all! After the boat trip, the group visited a volcano in Curepipe that last erupted around 600,000 years ago, before visiting the Grand Bassin (Sacred Lake). 🐬 For the second half of the trip, the agents visited a range of stunning hotels and complexes, including Casuarina Resort & Spa, Tarisa Resort & Spa, Sands Suite Resort & Spa, and Outrigger Mauritius Resort. All of these were highly recommended by Tamzin due to their range of activities, luxury feel, and attention to detail. Each hotel had its speciality whether that was a spa offering a wide variety of treatments, hotel suites to suit the needs of all guests, or space for activities such as tennis, golf, and volleyball.
